Enjoy a day in the country. The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada is a lifelong home to over 70 donkeys, mules and hinnies that have been abused, neglected or are no longer wanted. We recently relocated the Long Ears Boutique so it is now closer to the parking lot. It is here that you will receive your safety talk before entering the donkeys world. Each year we strive to improve access to the animals and property. Two accessible parking spaces have been relocated to provide easier access to the Boutique and safety talk. In the new improved Boutique you can now use your debit cards to purchase your donkey memorbilia and cold drinks. All proceeds from the Boutique go to the care of the donkeys.Don't forget to visit the new Donkey Gallery where you will find the donkey profiles. If you decide you want to help care for the donkeys, you can fill out a sponsorship form for a minimum of $50/year. You can also give as a gift to someone who has everything. The interactive Learning Centre has lots of information for all ages...everything from books to bones. See how we treat an abscessed hoof. Find out what a slipper hoof is. Learn what food is best for donkeys. Hint: All hay is not created equal. From the Learning Centre pass through the barnyard gate where you can interact with the donkeys who love a good brush and scratch behind the ears.Your are invited to listen to one of three scheduled donkey talks. Learn about the challenges donkeys face in North America. Then make your way down to the century old barn that has been converted into the Treatment Centre and visit the main herd up at the new Donkey House....and don't forget to greet the mules before you make your way to the picnic area overlooking the pond.Finish up your day with a walk along the trails in the wetlands and woodlands.
I go to the Donkey Sanctuary regularly and have been a hands on volunteer in past years. Now I continue to donate to this wonderful sanctuary where there is top notch care for these amazing animals, too many of which have endured bad treatment in the past. I encourage people to go and be educated about these endearing creatures. I have attended the sanctuary on my own, with friends and with groups. The one thing that bothered me was that strollers were not allowed inside the sanctuary which makes it difficult for families with babies and young children. Having to carry them around in hot weather is very tiring.

The Guelph Civic Museum showcases Guelph's history through permanent and changing exhibits, a fun and interactive families gallery, and special events and activities. Located in the recently renovated Loretto Convent, atop the hill at Norfolk Street and beside the landmark Church of Our Lady, the museum is home to a collection of artifacts that bring Guelph's past to life.
My Granddaughter had a fantastic and in formative outing. I recommend the museum highly! Will venture back again.

The floral clock is amazing and during the summer the train runs, the merry go round and wonderful play area. Walk along the trail by the river. There’s an accessible memory garden and an ice cream stand. Bring the family for a picnic.

There are so many different things to do in a library. There are kids, mom and senior group activities throughout the week. March break always provides different activities at different branches. The main branch downtown often has crafts, movies etc for the kids. You have access to internet, movies, paper back book or books on tape, magazines and lets us not forget the parts of the world you can discover as well as all the topics you can research. There is something for everyone of all ages. Those who like to read can just have a blast. Those who do not like to read can listen to tapes. The possibilities are endless. As to the amount of time you spend there that would be up to you as there are comfortable chairs and tables to sit at if you wish to do your reading or studying while at the library. Great to do on a sunny day when you want to get out of the heat but do not forget those rainy cloudy or snowy days when you just want something to do. It is always a good time to go and spend sometime in the library.

This central city park is always busy with walkers viewing the ducks and geese in the river. Nearby one may rent canoes in the summer. Children love its small playground.
