Built in 1927, the historic Carolina Theatre proudly welcomes audiences to downtown Greensboro to experience the rich atmosphere and ambiance of another era, while enjoying classic movies, live performances and concerts, and so much more! (Admission fee for most events.)
Greensboro, North Carolina’s historic Carolina Theater, located downtown, handles a wide range of events. It regularly hosts all sorts of concerts, plays, movies and stage presentations, like the Nutcracker ballet. The non-profit theater just underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation, somit has newly upholstered seating (about 1,000 total), a doubling of the size of the women’s rest rooms.and internal improvements that will keep it active for many years. A separate, upstairs “Crown” is a small venue performance area for comedy events and private parties.

Most do not know about the Revolutionary War Battles fought in the south and this park is a very enlightening and educational experience. They have a nice center with exhibits, a great walking tour and for those that prefer, a driving tour of the battlefield.

The Greensboro History Museum – an AAM-accredited Smithsonian Affiliate – is a division of the City of Greensboro Library Department and operates as a public-private partnership with the nonprofit GHM Inc. In partnership with the community, the Greensboro History Museum collects the city's diverse history and connects people to that history and one another through engaging exhibits, educational programs and community dialogue.
This was one of the best free museums we've been to visit. The layout was nice and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed the pieces of local history that made the displays so much more interesting and authentic. The temporary display was interactive and had kids engaged as we went through. The Vicks and O'Henry connections to this area was really neat to see and learn about. We really enjoyed this surprise visit to a great piece of history.

This garden features an elevated boardwalk which meanders through 7 acres of natural wetlands. Stone pathways traverse a forested hillside, and visitors can enjoy the sounds of water at Serenity Falls - a re-circulating waterfall - while viewing the many varieties of plants, birds, and other wildlife inhabiting the area. The garden is open year-round from sunrise to sunset. Admission is free.
Wonderful little nature preserve in the middle of town, easily accessible with wide walkways. There is a beautiful little water fall, a fallen tree, owl nest and so much more! I would highly recommend this for all ages and abilities. A great adventure and opportunity to get out in nature even if just for a short jaunt.

The International Civil Rights Center & Museum (ICRCM), located in Greensboro, N.C., is an archival center, collecting museum and teaching facility devoted to the international struggle for civil and human rights. This national landmark and national site of conscience celebrates the nonviolent protests of the 1960 Greensboro sit-ins that served as a catalyst in the civil rights movement. Our vision is to memorialize the courageous stand of the Greensboro Four as they launched, for posterity, the sit-in movement Feb. 1, 1960. We hope that the ICRCM, with its focus on the sit-in activities at the F.W. Woolworth lunch counter in Greensboro in 1960, will inspire the vigilance and fortify the spirit of all oppressed people to step forward in the ongoing struggle for human freedom.
What an amazing experience. I saw another review mentioning tour guide Gloria...she was our guide as well, and she did a fantastic job. She's engaging, patient and knowledgeable but what really impressed me was her passion for the subject, which really made her words come alive and got us passionate on the subject of civil rights as well. Gloria also was great at making personal connections with individual members of the tour; several had their own stories to tell about relatives who'd lived in the deep South during Jim Crow or tales about their own experiences with discrimination, and she listened with empathy to them all. I was there with a family member and a friend, both of whom have lived in Greensboro for a while but had never been to the Civil Rights museum...they were extremely glad I, an out of towner, wanted to go. We all learned quite a bit, even on subjects we thought we learned all there was to know. I cannot recommend this museum enough.

I was absolutely blown away by the amenities, programs, accessibility to resources for success, career preparation forum, the many groups to join, class to professor ratio, campus living, study halls, the many friendly students and the knowledgeable tour guides. I wish the tour included entering empty classes so the potential students could get a sense of actually being a actual student. My husband and I took our son in Feb 2019. And now my 2 nephews are interested, so we will meet them there this April 2019. Excited!!
