While visiting the Phoenix area my wife picked this place for a visit on a Wednesday morning. The preserve is maintained by ASU and is a quarter mile trail in the desert showing off the petroglyphs etched in the black volcanic rocks made by ancient Indians. One thing that surprised me was that these petroglyphs are located in rocks high in the hillside and not at the trail level. So you need to look closely and use a camera with a telephoto zoom or possibly a cellphone camera with zoom capabilities to see and/or photograph them. Also, you can change your position when looking for the glyphs which will make them stand out more. Pretty cool stuff! Note, that their covid hours are Weds through Fri from 8 am to 12 pm, and they close their gates at 12:15 pm.

Cerreta Candy Company is so successful because they make candy that everyone wants. Nothing too fancy, and nothing too expensive. Everything they make is delicious and disappears as soon as they come through the front door. Their sugar free candy is a big hit with our diabetic family members, and the chocolate covered rice crispy treats our my personal favorites. Their white chocolate golfballs are a great gift for any golfer.

State Farm Stadium

I enjoyed this tour. The stadium itself is quite interesting and the guide was good at engaging the entire tour group. One highlight was seeing the difference between the home team locker room and the visiting team locker room. Another was understanding how the real grass turf is rolled outdoors like a "giant lasagna pan". Seeing the press box and a luxury sweet were interesting. The only aggravation regarding this tour was Ticketmaster. Tickets are available on-site for no service fee but I was staying in another city and I knew tours could fill up so I had to use Ticketmaster. I believe the total cost was 250% of the list price due to all of the stupid fees!

Being there for a family reason we wanted to relax and enjoy the outdoors and this was the perfect place. On Mondays the park is open but the buildings are closed but, it is still worth it. I saw a family having a picnic lunch with the kids. The rose garden and just to see what a ranch appeared in the late 18th century was amazing. They have many peacocks that are there and some will even stop to put on a show for you. The beauty of the Peacocks and the roses are worth the going even thou the building may be closed learn from actual building and put yourself back in the history of Glendale

A friend & I came here to see a newly released film. Purchasing our tickets online and having our seats assigned to us meant that even if we got stuck in traffic and showed up at the last minute (we actually arrived early), we wouldn't have to go up and down the theater, looking for what seats are left. The seats are quite comfortable. You begin in a normal seated position; from this point, you can begin reclining, using a lever/button on the side of your seat, stopping at various degrees or going all the way down to a near-flat position. You just need to find your "sweet spot" and enjoy the flick! Just don't show up for a movie feeling sleepy, because you easily could doze off in one of these babies!

I grew up in this area so I have been to Thunderbird Conservation Park several times. There are several trails with different types of difficulties. My favorite trail is the Sunrise trail. It is a quick hike with awesome views, my German Shepherd loves it too! The park also has several different types of amenities like picnic areas and a wildlife lookout area that not many people know about. I recommend downloading the Avem app, it will help you discover and find all the different park amenities offered at Thunderbird Conservation Park. Happy Hiking!
