Well I am originally from across the river in Jersey and have been living out of town for 22 years but whenever I return home one must visit is the Carmelcorn Shop in downtown Easton. For the best carmelcorn , buttered popcorn, a nice variety of roasted nuts and an extensive candy selection that cannot be beat you must visit this Easton institution. You will not be disappointed and don’t forget the chocolate covered pretzels one of my favorites !! Another plus they are locally owned and a true Easton treasure !!

Visit the only museum that tells the story of America's coal-carrying canals and how they ignited America's Industrial Revolution. Experience hands-on educational exhibitions, extensive historical archives & collections, and the historic locktender's house and garden. You can also take a ride on Pennsylvania's only mule-drawn canal boat ride.
An enjoyable day trip from Philadelphia, the museum is dedicated to telling the story of the canal system in Northeastern Pennsylvania that enabled the coal and steel industries to power the industrial revolution. It is run by dedicated and very knowledgeable docents. The 45 minute, mule drawn canal boat ride is definitely the highlight. The docent running the boat filled the ride with stories of life on the canal when full families lived on the boats. The museum is small, but very informative. Unfortunately, the Lock tender's house was not open the day we were there, but we would consider a return trip. Park is beautiful with plenty of space for picnics and a full play ground for children. One warning - definitely check the website for directions. It could be difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area.

There's usually four of us that go to concerts regularly. Myself and my daughter, my sister and her daughter. Both the nutcracker and Toby Kieth were excellent shows. Had a blast. Tickets were reasonable and seats were great.

Crayola Experience is bursting with 26 exciting hands-on activities where you can name and wrap your own Crayola crayon, star in your own coloring page and so much more!
My 14 and 15 year old weren't super excited about this but ended up having a blast playing with interactive machines and molding wax hands. I also have kids ages 7 and 10 and they had a blast. you can create your own crayon name and label it, purchase model magic, do melted Crayola spin art, make your own 3-D ring or car (watch it melt), color pages and then watch them come to life, play in their jungle gym, add their creations to the computer and watch them appear on the ocean wall. So many things for the kids to do. The interactive show was simple, but cute and lasted about 15 minutes. Gift shop was amazing also. TIP - purchase tickets online (even while you are getting there) and it will save you around $1.50 a ticket. We spent around 2-3 hours there

Few would know that the second reading of the Declaration of Independence took place on Center Square in Easton, PA, days after the signing, and presented on July 10, 1776. The "square" in the 20th century is now a "circle" with war and remembrance veterans monument, each year covered with the nation's largest Christmas candle and featured in a number of holiday and celebratory presentations. The mayor has served for nearly 16 years and has revitalized the Easton area with community development projects, and attracted a wide variety of sleek and trendy restaurants which capture visitors from the Pocono area, nearby Philadelphia, and even outliers from the New York City region. The historic downtown area also hails the church where General Washington quartered his troops during the Revolutionary War. Worth a visit and also consider settling-in the residential communities of College Hill (Lafayette College), Palmer Township, and the brick-faced former mansions and brownstones in downtown and Delaware riverfront sectors.
