Sunny Cancun has much more to offer than its party-town reputation might suggest. Plenty of gorgeous, drama-free family resorts cater to folks who want to experience the tropical Yucatan climate. There are significant Mayan ruins here, such as El Rey and the Yamil Lu’um, a crumbling tower of pale gray stone. Learn more about this ancient civilization at the Museo Maya de Cancun. For a literal taste of Mexico, take a tour of the Museo Sensorial del Tequila.

Welcome to Parque Maya Cancún the first natural theme park in the history of the Hotel Zone. We seek to pay tribute to the great Mayan culture by offering the visitor a tour that stages through great adventures, the main traditions of the Mayan world. This is how we introduce “culture through adventure”. A fun way to learn. And the best, without leaving the Hotel Zone.
This was a great, short excursion (10am-1:30pm or so) that I booked through my hotel. It included a short video presentation, zip lines over the water, mangrove tour on a speedboat looking at nature, a short Mayan experience and lunch (salbute, something new I haven’t tried). The day we went wasn’t too busy so it was almost a private tour the entire time. Fabián, Johnny, Juan and Captain Jesus were all attentive, friendly and made the experience more enjoyable. Recommended!

The touristy center of the region, with prestigious hotels, clusters of shopping plazas and the convention center nearby.
We think it is the most beautiful beach in Cancún. The water is nice and the sand is without small stones and seaweed.

Take the ferry from this beach to Isla Mujeres.
This beach is very close to the Torre Escénica, on the northern side of the hotel strip. Almost no waves, great for kids and people afraid of the sea. The beach is clean and you can access it even if you are not staying in any of the hotels around.

If you are tired of the standard beaches along the Hotel Zone, visit Playa Delfines, a beautiful and very large beach with fine sand and slightly intense waves located near El Rey archaeological zone. Here, you can rent chairs and beach umbrellas as well as bring your own drinks and snacks. You will also find bathrooms, showers, "palapas" and parking lot, all these services totally free. Here you will also find a beautiful wooden lookout with the colorful "Cancún" sign that appears on many of the city´s postcards and brochures.

Lounge on the smooth, white, broad stretch of sand of this beach while gazing at the often rugged surf.
There’s always plenty of beach available to enjoy an entire day there. Plaza Kukulcan makes it a convenient public beach with easy access to a good variety of food and drinks at reasonable prices. Yes, having to rent chairs and a beach umbrella can be one downside, but waves are perfect there and beach is worth it.

This park, only 30 minutes away from the craziness of Cancun, offers horseback rides along the coast. ** NOTE: To best satisfy the needs and preferences of our visitors Tres Rios Ecopark is now temporarily closed as major improvements are underway, the park will re-open for the 2007 summer season.**
we are owners at TresRios and love this resort. The covid 19 guidelines are strictly encouraged and I am impressed by how they sanitize everything. The food is not seasoned like it use to be but everyone is so helpful to ensure your stay is pleasant. Many of the activities we were customed to have been scaled back. Given the circumstances, we accept what it is. I would like to recognize one employee: Giovanny at the sports bar! His creativity and helping us choose fun beverages were appreciated. As with all trips, there are the unexpected and they have been handled well. We did attend a sales presentation as we do every year and our salesman Juan Carlos was very professional and courteous. The managers were giving us every opportunity to purchase many weeks. LOL

La Isla is the best quality shopping to be found in Cancun. It’s actually several shopping hubs connected to each other across the street from hotel row, making it a wonderful perk for resort clients. It appears to be inspired by Venice, boasting bridges and canals and then sea, even pirate boats. In addition to hosting over a hundred shops to include many specialty stalls, souvenir stores, low to high-end fashion (Zara, Massimo Dutti, Louis Vuitton etc), Haagen-Dazs and many great restaurants, it houses an aquarium amusement park where you can even swim with dolphins. Lots of locals hang here along with the multitude of resort clients. If you want to shop in Cancun, this is the place. Check out Wayang for cool Mexican resort wear.
