Kaxí Tetuga Museum is the first museum of marine biodiversity in Príncipe island. Situated in Praia Grande do Norte where you can observe the nesting area of sea turtles, the museum presents the current situation of marine biodiversity, and has been restructured and maintained by the local community with reused materials. Through the visits made to the beach and to the museum we maintain a Community Fund that is entirely used to benefit the communities, strengthening the message that a living turtle is worth more than a dead turtle. Come to visit us!
I had the pleasure to witness a big green tutrle spawning and it was amazing. We can definitely see all the great work that is being done by everybody envolved. One of the best experiences of my life! To all the folks from the Museum and the marine conservation: A big big thank you and keep up the good work!

Praia Jale is a very lovely beach with three simple but comfortable cottages (no hot water or fans, electricity in the evening). Good, simple meals provided. While difficult to reach its isolation is a romantic attraction. It's possible to get public transport to Porto Alegre and then try to negotiate further private transport from there otherwise arrange transport from Sao Tome town to resort. Praia Jale is included in all the southern route day tours.

Beautiful quiet small beach, one of the best to swim we saw in São Tomé with the almond trees branches growing right over the green blue waters during the high tide Concerned about the ready to start plans for a new development of a bungalow hotel owned by Isabel dos Santos and the possible impact in the free access to the area.

Pico Cao Grande is quite a unique landmark! I enjoyed the drive to the south of the island as well as the amazing view of the Pico. There is no way you can miss it, just keep driving south until you see it. Luckily, the roads are empty enough that you can always stop and take some great photos.
