Once a sleepy fishing village, Placencia has emerged as an increasingly popular eco-destination on the Caribbean. For those who enjoy outdoor adventure, the Stann Creek region offers a host of activities: hiking through mountainous rain forests, kayaking, deep sea fishing, diving and exploring Mayan ruins. The peninsula boasts 16 miles of tranquil beaches, with a lagoon to the west and the Caribbean to the east and lots of peace and quiet in the middle. Tour guides and dive centers offer a variety of excursions, with boat rides to the outer cayes an ongoing favorite. Also popular are guided land tours to Mayan Ruins or trekking the jungle trails of Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, where the first Jaguar Reserve in the world was established.

We've done a couple massage, we asked for the combo one, which includes deep tissue, hot stone, and feet and face mask and scrub. We are both very pleased. The atmosphere there is magic, very relaxing, nice music, and from the Windows you can see the garden below (of the restaurant). Also the room is cool enough, and the girls are very nice. Definitely recommend! Bonus because you can book online, without having to ring them or come by before your treatment to book it.

Mostly, a day out sailing. If you vote for us, you'll have pretty much the same type of day as when I go out with family and friends. We leave the dock at 9:30 in the morning, motor out of our canal, raise the sails and cut the engines. We'll sail for an hour or two, and then drop anchor in calm water behind a caye. You can snorkel or swim, or just hang out on the boat. After lunch there's time to do more of the same. Lunch, water, juices, sodas, and rum drinks are all part of the deal. Around two o'clock we'll pull anchor and sail for home, getting back around three. And oh yeah, we do sunset sails as well - 4:00 to just after sunset.
