I visited Heidiland for a two hour outride. Nadine has 12 horses and I appreciate that she contacted me beforehand to check my level of experience in order to select the most suitable horse. The pace was perfect, and the setting was beautiful - unspoiled Klein Karoo farmland. An all-round awesome experience and incredible value for what you get. Will definitely visit again when I’m next in the area.

We travelled to Montagu for my husbands birthday, we stayed in the amazing Galenia Estate but sadly they don't have a spa there. I desperately wanted to treat hubby to a relaxing massage and was told by Galenia theres only one lady worth using and that's Susan at Complete Health and Body. I spoke with Susan to see if there was any possibility she could come to us at Galenia and without hesitation she said absolutely, she suggested the massage best suited to us, suggested the best time to have this done and even offered to do this by the pool, in our room, or wherever we felt most comfortable. She arrived early to ensure she could set up, and not only is she a wonderful lady but she's a great and knowledgeable masseuse. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Susan and only wish she lived closer to Cape Town, so we could get her massages more often.

Beautiful and very quiet location with great hosts and top products from our own olive farm. Ideal for a fine picnic or an excellent tasting. If you are looking for absolute tranquility, you should stay a few nights here. Perfectly located on Route 62 and close to the very beautiful Montagu. The weekly market there on Saturday is also highly recommended. For me, a visit to the Olijvenhof is an absolute must.

IBIS Gallery

Ibis is a small and informal gallery owned by Carolyn Metcalfe and Hennie Kok, used as exhibition space for our own work and other artists where we can sell at reasonable prices and engage directly with the public. We both take enormous pleasure in working and aim always to produce that which is functional as well as beautiful, that has an appeal that is timeless and not merely fashion driven, and to which we have given constant creative attention and all the time it needed to be carefully and well made.

Montagu Nature Garden

Reviewed By Ghathers - Langebaan, South Africa

I took my five year old for a hike over koppie on the Nature Reserve, and we were both enthralled by the vistas that Mother Nature provided. From the amazing array of flowers, to the variety of insects and birds, to the beautiful view towards Montagu in the west and Barrydale in the east. We hike here regularly, as it is conveniently situated near town and the peace and tranquility is perfect for some "father/son" bonding. The walk over the koppie and down the other side is relatively easy (Ouma did the walk about 2 weeks ago!) and the small dams nestled between lush lawns are perfect for a picnic. For the less energetic, there are myriad paths that crisscross the reserve at various levels. Entrance fee at present is R5 for adults and R2 for kids, which is paid through a slot in the building at the entrance. Well worth the visit, especially at this time of the year!
