We were visiting Urbana and were told about this wonderful park. It was a beautiful day for a walk and this was the perfect place to see and experience its beauty. It was during the week and it was not too busy. We were able to relax and enjoy the unusual park artwork and sculptures. There is a paved walking path around the park. Children were playing in the playground. The park is lovely and peaceful.

There are 7 stages in the center, if you count the one in the lobby, the one in the basement, and the amphitheater outside. The best is the Foellinger Great Hall, which has fabulous acoustics that keep attracting some of the best symphonies to come and perform. Each year, I buy about 10 sets of tickets for performances at the center, and have seen many of the top 20 symphonies perform here.

Champaign-Urbana Adventures in Time and Space is an interactive real-life escape room game for friends, family, and coworkers! Teams of 2-10 players have 60 minutes to find clues, complete puzzles, discover secret doors, and solve a greater mystery. Each game takes place in a different themed setting and time period. From dispelling evil spirits in a haunted cabin to foiling the plot of a medieval wizard, each scenario is designed to make players feel like they are living out a movie! Players must use observation, communication, and critical thinking to win. It makes for a great night out or an exciting twist on corporate team building.
This is going to be hard to beat! Our group did the "Wizard" and "Cabin" rooms and they were both incredible. The puzzles were challenging yet attainable, the rooms were completely immersive, and the attention to detail was at another level. I've done a handful of escape rooms and none of them came close to this experience. The location has easy parking, and is near a lot of places to eat. Our group opted to do two rooms and had a break in between, so we went across the street for some food. Easy to get to with lots around! Hope we can go back soon!

I remember when the then Assembly Hall was merely a big hole in the ground. That was in 1962 and I was a senior at the University of Illinois. As sports editor of The Daily Illini, the student newspaper, and a sportswriter for the Champaign-Urbana Courier in 1963, I covered the last basketball game played at Huff Gym and the first basketball game played at what is now State Farm Center. If you have visited other basketball arenas across the country, you are aware that the State Farm Center is unlike any other. Even after 56 years, it is an architectural masterpiece, a large dome-shaped indoor arena, the home for Illinois' men's and women's basketball teams and a performance and event center that has hosted Broadway plays and graduations. On this occasion, my wife and I walked inside with a few curiosity seekers eager to view the interior of this grand structure in the wake of its $169.5 million renovation. The 16,128-seat arena was designed by architect Max Abramovitz, an Illinois alum. Often referred to a a "flying saucer," the dome is supported by 614 miles of one-quarter inch steel wire wrapped at the base under intense pressure. From 1963 to 1965, it was the largest domed structure in North America until the opening of the Astrodome in Houston, Texas. Today, the Astrodome is gone. But the State Farm Center remains. The renovation improved sight lines, added more concession stands and restrooms and upgraded seating. From a retired sportswriter's viewpoint, however, there is only one drawback. In the old days, the Assembly Hall's press box surpassed any other arena. Located above the seats reserved for season ticket holders, it was spacious with two levels stretching from one end of the playing floor to the other. Today, the print media is squeezed behind the players' benches and the scorer's table with barely enough room to scribble play-by-play notes. But more room has been given to the students, the famed Orange Krush cheering section, and the pep band.

Our tap room seats 95 people in a cozy environment with a great view of our production brewery and our outside beer garden. Its family friendly atmosphere is enhanced by a playground and outdoor games. It is surrounded by test plots of barley and hops. Enjoy one of our beers from our. We also offer a wide array of sodas, coffee, wines, cold brew coffee, and cider. Feel free to bring your own food or enjoy meals from the delicious food trucks parked right outside of our building.
Riggs brewery is one of the places in the Chambana area that you must pay a visit. The place is family-friendly. there are many events all year round. The owners are very friendly. And the most important thing is their beer. You can find it in any store around here but by drinking it at the brewery you will have a better taste of them.

Good for fishing and a picnic lunch. The wheel chair accessable fishing deck is a nice touch. Also features a nice paved path/track that loops around the lake. There's even a grill where you can cook your fresh catch, and a small boathouse that can be rented for group meetings or events. Its a good park for sure, though the fish themselves can be hard to come by.
