Since going to La Amistad Polo as a complete beginner last year, I’ve become absolutely hooked on polo. I even own a polo pony now as a result of enjoying my lessons with Juan so much! Juan is very detailed orientated and attentive to his student’s needs. I really like that he always offers very clear and detailed explanations of each new technique we practice. Juan also speaks perfect English which is so helpful when it comes to learning the technicalities of riding and polo. Before I knew it, I was able to swing the mallet and hit the ball accurately. I was genuinely surprised that I could hit the ball after just one lesson. What’s great too is that once I started to progress, Juan organized instructional chukkers with a mix of other players of the same level as well as professionals. Very shortly after learning how to swing the mallet, I was able to try out my new skills while learning about the tactics and rules of the game. Juan always has a selection of exceptionally well cared for horses that are carefully matched to your ability. Most importantly, I’ve always felt safe and looked after during my lessons. I can’t recommend Juan and La Amistad Polo enough. Beware though... you’ll probably become completely addicted!

Estancia El Ombu de Areco

Reviewed By MaureenAlaska - Darwin, Australia

A friend who had visited Buenos Aires recommended that we visit a ranch to experience the hospitality of the ranchers and the gauchos. We were welcomed with cold drinks and empanadas beside the lovely old building dating back to the 1850’s. We wandered around the beautiful parkland with its many old trees and found some very colourful parrots. Then over to the horses to decide whether we would go horse riding or go for a ride in the buggy. We chose the latter and thoroughly enjoyed the ride along the track beside the paddocks. By this time, we were ready for the amazing Barbecue lunch with a lovely wine under the shade of the old trees. So much delicious food that I could not think of eating any food that night. The entertainment came next with the gauchos performing their traditional dances. A young gaucho showed us how they tamed their horses which was so tender and beautiful. Then it was time for the long drive back to the city after a thoroughly enjoyable day.

Temaiken Biopark

Temaiken is a foundation that studies, promotes and makes information available on the protection of Nature. It is based on three mainstays: RESEARCH, EDUCATION AND PRESERVATION. In order to carry out its mission of promoting the study, research, knowledge and communication of all matters related to flora and fauna, fostering a sense of respect for the preservation and restoration of the environment, Temaiken has: • A Biopark, located in the city of Belen de Escobar to communicate environmental issues and raise awareness on people, through entertainment and contact with nature. • A Natural Reserve in the Province of Misiones that works as a "biological shock absorber" for the Teyu Cuare Provincial Park, extending the protected area of the pristine rainforest. Temaiken also co-manages 2 Provincial Parks: Cruce Caballero and Araucarias, both part of the Pino Parana Forest ecosystem, also in the Province of Misiones. • Educational Programs for the purpose of "Educating to Preserve" Temaiken provides institutions with its educational programs adapted to school curricula and applicable to all levels of education: Initial, PEB, ESB, High School, Primary School, Secondary School and Special Education. This work is supplemented by Teachers Training Courses and activities with the communities located within the ecosystems under protection or to be protected. • Research and Preservation Programs. Various programs are carried out at the Foundation: Protected Areas, Endangered Species and Marine Biodiversity. These programs comprise the specific Preservation Projects aimed at achieving Temaiken's purpose: The Preservation of native species, particularly endangered species. • A Center for Reproduction of Species (CRET)where animal Rehabilitation and Reproduction programs are carried out, supporting both Preservation Programs and the authorities governing the illegal trafficking of animals. These programs focus on rehabilitating animals that are later returned to their habitat as part of various release and reintroduction programs.

Magnificent city icon and the thought it was designed to contain water for the inhabitants nearby seems like an architectural extravagance. At first sighting, we thought it was a fortress overlooking the Atlantic ocean and overseeing maritime activity. Nope, just a colossal water tank.

My wife and I have been in Europe and Argentina several times and when we first visited Lujan we were amazed to see what it looked like any of the European Cathedrals we have seen. The stain glasses on the church are in such a marvelous state that no European Cathedral may show any better. The neogothic style of the Church is beyond impressive. Anyone visiting Argentina cannot leave the country without going to Lujan to see this artistic wonder.
