Archeology, fine arts and ethnology museum. Important collection of Phoenician World and Murillo, Zurbarán, Rubens, Zuloaga, Sorolla, Miró... paintings
This museum has a very interesting archaeological section with finds from all periods showing that the region around Cádiz was inhabited from Neolithic times on, making Cádiz the oldest, permanently inhabited city of Europe. Especially the unique Phoenician finds are worth seeing including two marble anthropoid sarcophaguses. On the first floor is the fine art collection with a room dedicated to the Spanish painter Zurbarán and another to Murillo. For everybody interested in ancient culture and art, this museum should not be missed.

Watch tower from the eighteenth century, situated in the down town and the highest point of the city, turned today into a focal point of cultural interest. The tower has two exhibition halls, the Camera Obscura and the terrace from which you can enjoy wonderful views of CádizIts Cámara Obscura was the first one installed in Spain.
Great panoramic views of Cádiz, totally worth the climb. The camera oscura is also great. Marta was really really nice.

As we were walking around Cadiz we were on our way back to our parking spot down this small side street. We noticed this small bar "La Cava" featured Flamenco evenings. Went inside and immediately made reservations without doing any research. We were definitely NOT Disappointed. The show was fantastic. You could really see and feel the passion the dancers, singer, and guitarist revealed in their performance. Would rate higher if I could.

This park is full of trees from around the world. There are fountains throughout the park making it a beautifully cool place to walk when the sun is hot. There is a cafe, childrens play area and lots of benches to watch the world go by. There is also an artificial water cascade which has steps to the top where you have a great view out to sea. Tranquil spot for a bit of contemplation...or a coffee and cake.
