One of the highlights of our Michigan trip!! Loves learning about the ecology of the dunes, enjoying the fun ride, and laughing at all the corny tour guide jokes!

Sleigh Rides, Horseback Riding, Romantic Carriage Rides and more. Open year round by appointment.
We scheduled a sleigh ride for 2 on the Friday before Valentines Day. The weather was chilly but the ranch provided a nice, thick, handmade blanket for our ride. It was lovely going through the snowy, treelined trails with the jungle of the bells on our beautiful clydesdale mix horse. Our sleigh was pulled by Fudge, a large horse with a rich red-brown coloring and black hair. The sleigh driver was very knowledgeable about the horses at the ranch and showed a deep care for the animals. I would highly recommend this place for sleigh rides and would love to come back in the summer for horseback riding.

The main street of Saugatuck was named for the town's founder, William Gay Butler.
This is a charming street with cute little shoppes and some places to get treats for the kids! We found a park and playground to entertain our toddler while waiting for a seat at a restaurant, and there are nice public restroom facilities. The street and businesses were so cute and make an outing in Saugatuck even more fun!

Named after former village president Frank Wicks, this park offers great river views and picnicking.
Saugatuck is so beautiful, but it can get very busy. Wicks park is a shady refuge where you can relax for a bit, and watch the river. Or you can people watch. We love to spend about an hour here, just resting and conversing.

Lake Michigan Beach, popular for its clear water and nice sand.
This is a great beach to watch the sunsets. It’s a small beach as much of the sand is eroding. There are facilities here and lots of parking, which makes it an easy beach to visit.
