Skopelos (Greek: Σκόπελος) is a Greek island in the western Aegean Sea. Skopelos is one of several islands which comprise the Northern Sporades island group, which lies east of the Pelion peninsula on the mainland and north of the island of Euboea. It is part of the Thessaly region. Skopelos is also the name of the main port and the municipal center of the island. The other communities of the island are Glossa and Neo Klima (Elios). The geography of Skopelos includes two mountains over 500 m (1,640 ft); Delphi (681 m/2,234 ft) in the center of the island, and Palouki (546 m/1,791 ft) in the southeast. With an area of 96 square kilometres (37 sq mi) Skopelos is slightly larger than Mykonos (85 km/33 sq mi) and Santorini (73 km/28 sq mi). The nearest inhabited islands are Skiathos to the west and Alonissos to the east.

I've been coming back to “my” lovely Panormos bay for four years… Like I said, Panormos beach is for me one of the most beautiful beaches on Skopelos, where I spent a wonderful holiday every time I come. Crystal clear sea, not too many tourists (in June and September), most beautiful views in the morning, when the beach is still “empty” and the sea is calm like an oil and in the evening when the tourists leave and you can watch perfect sunsets...Place to run away from daily routine, work just or at least for one week in the year. Don't expect loud music, stands with souveniers, T shirts etc…

Crystal clear water and lots of fish! ???????????? Beautiful spot - very peaceful just the sound of the cicadas and the sea. If you’re getting a bus it’s a longish walk from the road (and back up again). Definitely need beach shoes as slippery stones getting in

This was a great beach as its right in the north of the island with a pretty rough road from Glossa to negotiate to get there. It has served parasols and loungers for €7 a couple and with a small bar at the car park for sun downers at the end of the day. Well sheltered with high cliffs from east breezes its well worth the effort to get to.

Mercurius Cocktail Bar is the unique bar with a breathtaking terrace view over the Skopelos harbour that offers world music, a big variety of cocktails while hosting cultural events such as art exhibitions and live music concerts.Mercurius Bar opened in July 1997 on Skopelos Island. Since then, every summer is the most popular hangout of the Island. Music that travels you across the Globe and cocktails that excite you, are your hosts on its terrace overlooking the old harbour of Skopelos town. In 2011 the Art Gallery was created, with the aim to promote the artwork of Greek and foraign artists, who live, work and are inspired by the beauty and the uniqeness of the island. Then became Mercurius Bar Gallery that hosts various cultural events from painting to sculpture.Mercurius Bar Gallery opens every year during Easter time and closes end of September.Mercurius Bar Gallery is situated at one of the most central spots of Skopelos town.
This must have been my favourite bar during my trip in Skopelos (and I kept visiting it every night). We arrived very late at night, after 2am and there were still a few people sitting in the outdoors area. Music was American retro chill 90s mixing perfectly with the setting. Beautiful flowering bougainvilleas decorated with red and blue lights, traditional island floors, and an amazing sea view, overlooking the boats in harbour (the bar is situated on the seafront road of the port). Personnel were very friendly, welcoming us at the bar and the island in general, dressed in tropical shirts and dresses. The cocktails were amazing (even though a bit pricey). We just loved this place!

There are a lot of beaches on the island of Skopelos. As expected many of them are filled with tourists. Neo Klima/Elios has fewer tourists and more locals. It is a clean and safe beach. It is very nice for families. There are several activities which operate our of this beach including Kayaking (Sea Kayak Center of Skopelos with Yvonne and Neil) and Standup Paddle Boarding with Shane. It is not far from the village of Glossa. You can take a taxi or the bus. Taxis are very affordable on the island. It costs about 10 Euro from the Glossa taxi stand to the beach. We used Jimmy (Tsaknis Dimitrios) almost exclusively. He lived in Canada for a number of years and is fluent in both English and Greek. +30 6978 025 718 (Tell him Tom and Linda recommended him). Since the beaches on Skopelos are primarily rocks rather than sand, I recommend swim/water shoes. As everywhere on the island, the water is totally clear. You can see the bottom of the sea even standing up on a paddle board, kayaking, and swimming.
