We are Oxygene, a family-friendly, English-speaking ski & snowboard school and ski hire business in the French Alps. We are a friendly one-stop-shop for all of your family’s ski needs located in Belle Plagne and Plagne Centre.
I just spent a great week skiing in La Plagne where I had 5 days of group lessons with Daniel. He was an amazing instructor who helped me further develop my skiing abilities on many different slopes and under varied conditions and he knew the area very well. He is fun too! At the same time my kids were in classes with Nans and Manu and loved it too, so a super week all around, thank you Oxygen!

Skiing experience: First time skier (23 years old). Lessons used: 6x3 hour group lessons in the morning (incl. additional 2 hours on the first day). Highlights: Alberto was an excellent ski instructor and helped me to progress from falling over on every green run to successfully completing red runs by the end of the week. He was very knowledge, patient and most importantly he was very fun to spend time with over the week. I thoroughly enjoyed my time skiing and I would definitely recommend going to the Oxygene Ski School if you are a first time skier and are looking for an fun, enjoyable environment whilst also improving your skiing ability.

Few communes the size of Sainte Foy extend over such a vast area, or such a large difference in altitude. The commune covers over 11,000 hectares and spans a height difference of 2856m, from its lowest point at Viclaire at 890m to the summit of the Grande Sassière at 3746m. It is bounded to the South by the river Isère (apart from a small area on the other side of the river), and to the north for 20 or so kilometers by the Italian border. This can be easily crossed by the two mountain passes, the Col du Mont and the Col du Rocher Blanc. To the east and west it is bounded by the “nants” (mountain streams) of Moulins and La Balme (or Nant Cruet). Skieurs, boarders and telemarkers alike will revel in the powder just yards from the pistes or amongst the trees, which lasts for days thanks to its north-west facing slopes. Take a guide to explore one of the renowned off-piste routes to the deserted farming hamlet of Le Monal, or the infamous 1700 m vertical descent of the north face of Fogliettaz…
Having just returned from Chalet Sapins Venture Ski , I cannot recommend this resort and accommodation enough. The staff ( Fiona and Freya ) went all out to make sure our large group (19) had everything we needed and that we were comfortable and relaxed. We were a group of adults and children inc teens and Sainte Foy is a small picturesque resort that suited us perfectly ( mixed abilities ) , The chalet has a great location offering beautiful views and an added luxury of a pool . hot tub and sauna , which was welcomed after a day skiing. Wonderful resort / chalet and wonderful Xmas break , thanks to Venture Ski.

La Rosiere is a ski resort in the Haute Tarentaise, it's located at 1850 metres on a south facing ridge with skiing down to 1176m from a maximum height of 2800m. I love skiing here and have skied here since 2000, IMO there's something for everyone. It's great for families, there are excellent kid's facilities, with a creche and dedicated children's learning areas. The resort is compact with lifts at the centre of the village and at the hamlet of Les Eucherts, virtually all of the pistes are south or southwest facing so it's great for skiing on sunny days, the ski area is linked with La Thuile in Italy to form the Espace San Bernado, all ski-able on a single lift pass. La Thuile is completely different with mostly north facing slopes and more tree cover. In all there is over 160kms of pistes and masses of off-piste, with one of the best snow records in France, regularly amongst the top five resorts for snow-cover. For me, the attraction of La Rosiere is that it's terrific value, lift passes are much better value that the mega resorts nearby, and it doesn't cost a fortune to eat and drink on the mountain. Above all it's the friendliness of the villagers, many of whom have become good friends, that keeps us returning year after year.
