You have to walk through cemented and iron stairs and its very steep, 300 steps. Then afterwards, a very light rocky path. After a 30-45 mins you'll see this beauty. Splashing cold water. Majestic ! Entrance : P10.00 You have to hire a habal (motorcycle ) to come here. In our case we hired habal to tour us around. Rony- Dumaguete Tour 09654850817 Kindly take note to ask discount, in our case 2 pax we priced at first for P2,500.00 and ended P2k. So basically 1k each.

Apo Island Marine Reserve

Reviewed By Kelsydney

This was my 3rd and 4th trip to Apo Island, and it didn't let me or my fellow divers down. The diving as it has been before was just fantastic. The coral was even better than I remember, the huge school of Jacks following us on one of the dive was only bettered by the sea snakes that were hunting and were not worried about the 6 divers in the water. When you go there take some local money because when the local ladies come out to sell you shirts and wrap arounds you will kick yourself if you miss out. Just a great place to dive, and proves that when a marine reserve is in place it works.

World War II Museum

Reviewed By kristiner_1972 - Muntinlupa, Philippines

Valencia is a small town in Negros Oriental that is about 9 kms west of the capital, Dumaguete City. The place is surprisingly filled with so much history because the nearby mountain, Mt. Talinis, is where the Japanese soldiers made their last stand during WW II. A visit to this town is not complete without stopping at the Cata-al WW II Museum where you can see genuine WW II artifacts that were strewn in the jungles of Mt. Talinis such as guns, missiles, soldiers’ uniforms etc. The owner, Mr. Felix Cata-al, would enthusiastically tell visitors some fascinating stories about his collection, which also include old Coke bottles, newspapers and books. Although History wasn’t my favourite subject in school, you will look at it in a different light once you meet Mr. Cata-al and see his “toys”.

Silliman University

The 100+ year history of this highly ranked, American-founded university is too complex and deep to cover here. The campus is a beautiful, green respite from he surrounding city and contains fine examples of Eastlake architecture, Art Deco, and Classic architecture - set in a mature, verdant Beaux-Arts style arrangement. Also, unlike many universities, its easy to access at the gates and visitors are not turned away. Worth reading a Wiki article on it that captures the founding in depth, WWII history, and even interesting events from he Marcos era. In the meantime, just enjoy the walk.

Pulangbato Falls

Reviewed By 82tedg - Adelaide, Australia

Less than a 30 minute drive from Dumaguete and whilst normally you can drive up a road with nice views this time the bridge over the small river from the main road was under repair and we ( 6 of us ) had to walk up the almost 1 kilometre of a quite steep road . Not a too difficult walk and definitely worth while .The 2 water falls , pools in which you can swim , and the cafe , bar , and other facilities were all very good . When the road re-opens there is parking , for a small fee .
