We were staying at a nearby cabin when the kids noticed this rescue when we drove by and begged us to take them. Honestly, we weren’t expecting much but then we read the positive reviews which piqued our curiosity. Every positive review is absolutely accurate!! We had a gloriously wonderful time and the kids (ages 13&11 and animal lovers)didn’t want to leave. The owner, Ms Susanne, is such a lovely, kind person and everyone that works there is just as nice. Wish we could come visit and volunteer here everyday!! If we are ever back to this area, we will definitely come back and visit this sanctuary!!

The Apple House is a marvelous place to stock up on delicious apples and I only wish they were closer to where we live. We have always been happy with the products we found here

Engelheim Vineyards is a "farm winery" in that the entire process from vine stem to glass stem is performed on the estate. Our guests primarily visit the tasting room where they can enjoy our award-winning wine with a tasting, by the glass, or by the bottle. Tastings are only $10 and include up to 5 wines of your selection from our menu that currently has 15 selections. Once you've selected your wine at the bar, you can relax in our large seating area inside OR outside on the deck or below at picnic tables. Our deck is enclosed during the winter hours for your comfort. We have live music every Saturday/Sunday afternoon with local artists in a variety of styles (Americana, country, folk, etc). Meat & Cheese plates, Cheese plates, and local Smoked Trout Dip w/crackers are available should you wish to stay and enjoy your wine. We look forward to your visit to "experience a taste of Heaven".

Nice day trip, large apple barn with free samples of several apple varieties, apple butter, jams, jellies, salsas and cider. You can browse hundreds of items produced on site and even watch them being made. In addition to apples they sell breads, pies, ice cream, popcorn, jams, jellies, salsa, fresh fruit and recipe books to make it all. The view of the surrounding mountains in beautiful fall colors is spectacular. They have a dining area where you can enjoy your purchase and on the day we were there they had a local group playing music and singing for the guests. When you hear the whistle blowing Be Sure and look up around the inside perimeter of the building for a miniture TRAIN that regularly makes it's rounds to the delight of young and old.

Penland's Apple House is a family owned orchard and offers a great selection of apples during the entire growing season including Yates in November. They also have a selection of baked goods, delicious frozen cider, preserved chow-chows, salsas and other items, jams, jellies and hot sauces. Service here is always with a smile and staff are courteous and attentive. The store is always clean and items are well displayed. They have very clean bathrooms as well. I visited Penland's several times this year and got a great deal on apples every month, but what kept me going back so often was the frozen muscadine cider. Delicious! The store has a large parking lot and often has an independent shop out front that sells pork rinds prepared on site.

My partner and I have been living in Atlanta for two years now and love going to visit vineyards in North Georgia. We find it an easy way to get out but still keep safe and socially distant from others (usually). Ott Farms is exactly the type of winery we love to go to! It has a big indoor space—which was completely empty except for the person serving wine at the bar. There was ample room on the outside for everyone there that day to be safe and distant. It overlooks the vineyard, which wasn't in season but still very pretty. And in the distance is a view of the mountains which was really nice. There are circles of adirondack chairs for people to sit in as well as picnic tables and a pagoda where they host live music on the weekends. There is also food available but mostly appetizers and dips. We ordered pimento cheese which was delicious but there are a few options to choose from if you get hungry while sharing a bottle of wine. We ordered a darker, dry wine but I'll say the wine was amazing, but there weren't a lot of options. But the options they do have are very good. I'm sure that any type of wine drinker would be satisfied with whatever they order. The staff was very friendly and there were some German Shepherds living nearby that were keeping everyone entertained as they ran through the vineyard—but never came up to us or disturbed anyone. They kept their distance. Finding the winery was easy and it was signed well. There was plenty of parking for people there. I highly recommend this place if you're in the Blue Ridge, GA area looking for something fun to do on a beautiful afternoon. We will definitely be back at some point.

A family-owned, 150-acre apple orchard in North Georgia, R and A Orchards features a farm market filled with locally grown and sourced fruits, including 38 varieties of apples, 30 varieties of peaches and eight varieties of nectarines, as well as fresh vegetables, honey, jams, jellies and more throughout the year. Since 1947, this farm market, bakery and cafe has served up 18 different varieties of homemade fried pies, chicken and dumplings, sandwiches, fudge and more. In the spring, we have fresh-picked strawberries followed by fresh-picked peaches in the summer. During the fall, we offer U-pick for seven varieties of apples on the weekends during September and October.
Stopped in on the way to the Falls . We bought one of the breads then and later for breakfast the next morning. R&A orchards has some delicious fresh fruit. Depending what’s in Season will be what they have. Peaches are in and they were fabulous. R&A also offer home made pies, donuts, and a-lot more for the connoisseur of fresh fruits and vegetables. On the way back from hiking and enjoying the beauty of the mountains, we got some of the homemade peach ice cream! Wow! So fabulous, yummmmmyyy!!!

The barn is small but the property is vast and beautiful! The parking can fill up fast so get there early to grab a great table outside & make a spot to be front & center for live music on Sunday afternoons! Very kinda staff, pretty good wines & fun swirled wine slushies.
