La distillerie datant du XVIII ème siècle est située dans un vallon isolé, à l’extrême-nord de la Martinique. Son histoire commence en 1790 avec l’achat de l’Habitation par Antoine Leroux-Préville qui lui donne son nom. Puis en 1845, Jean-Marie Martin achète l’habitation-sucrerie Fonds-Préville, et crée la marque J.M avec ses initiales. A partir de 1912, la famille Crassous de Médeuil continue à développer la qualité et le renom de ce rhum. En 2002, le rhum J.M intègre GBH puis en 2013 une rénovation du site est entreprise pour moderniser l’outil de production et créer une expérience nouvelle pour les visiteurs.
