Uva Province (Sinhalese: ඌව පළාත Uva Palata, Tamil: ஊவா மாகாணம் Uva Maakaanam) is Sri Lanka's second least populated province, with 1,259,880 people, created in 1896. It consists of two districts: Badulla and Moneragala. The provincial capital is Badulla. Uva is bordered by Eastern, Southern and Central provinces. Its major tourist attractions are Dunhinda falls, Diyaluma Falls, Rawana Falls, the Yala National Park (lying partly in the Southern and Eastern Provinces) and Gal Oya National Park (lying partly in the Eastern Province). The Gal Oya hills and the Central mountains are the main uplands, while the Mahaweli (Sinhalese: great-sandy) and Menik (Sinhalese: gemstone) rivers and the huge Senanayake Samudraya and Maduru Oya Reservoirs are the major waterways.

Flying Ravana is Sri Lanka’s first ever mega dual zip-line, located amidst the luscious green estates of Ella,Sri Lanka. (near Little Adams Peak - Ella's main attraction) The two-wire zip-line stretches for more than half a kilometre, slides at max 80kmph and offers a bird’s-eye view of the beautiful hills of the island. Flying Ravana is truly, Ella in all its glory.

It is the longest hike and wonderful journey for me by walk. I went with few frinds via Ohiya Hortain plains entrance and Udaweriya estate. It's not a rainy day and mountain view is suprb . The highest waterfall of Sri Lanka is Bambarakanda fall and we climb down from top to bottom of fall through forest. And we saw upper fall and lower fall on the way.

One of the best hike I have ever done in my life, from Haputale town we hike through the Black Forest jungle, it was great adventure. It took almost 3 hours to reach the view point. We have able to see some wild life animals, birds, small mammals, lizards etc. we get down from the thotalagala side which is other side of the mountains to see lake Richmond. Highly recommend to do this hike if your in Haputale. Same hike you can visit the ravana cave too.

This is located between Belihuloya and Haputhale. Need to take a detour from main road in a narrow road and if you wish to go closer to the fall need to walk too....

Diyaluma situate beside Beragala Wellawaya rode 6Km away from Koslanda. If you need to use, public transport also possible to reach this place. Once you reach there, you can climb up few steps up if water level is law. There is a pool up there. But be careful to bath there, better not to. It's sleapery also.

A well known waterfall in Sri Lanka
Beauty of Uva.. most beautiful waterfall in sri lanka..located about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from Badulla town. The waterfall, which is 64 metres (210 ft) high gets its name from the smoky dew drops spray, (Dun in sinhala means mist or smoke) which surrounds the area at the foot of the waterfall. It's also known as Bridal fall as the shape of the waterfall reflect a bridal veil. The water fall is created by the river called Badulu Oya which goes through the Badulla town.

Ella rock roughly takes you 1.5 hours to climb. If you're fit and healthy it can be climbed in a shorter time. It really is a beautiful hike, taking you through long grass, bridges, beautiful forests. There are many routes to hike, and you can get guides who will take you as well. The views once you reach the top are excellent. Definitely a must do when you reach Ella!

The mechanism of the Demodara loop is considered to be an engineering marvel from the British colonial era. An arc of the loop can be visualized from a several spots closer to the Demodara Railway Station. However, the whole course of the loop and the mechanism is not discernible with these spots. It is recommended that you check the train schedule from the Ella Railway Station and reach the Demodara station 45mins prior to the scheduled train time. The experienced local trishaw drivers would take you to a higher elevation mount located some 8km away from where you can get a proper view of the whole mechanism, a range of mountains including little Adams Peak. The return trip to this spot from the Demodara station on trishaw costed three of us LKR 1,500 only.
