Karnala fort is through the Karnala bird santuary. We did this in Oct-18 during the Diwali vacation and certainly was great fun. Travelled with extended family and that included a few senior citizens and few kids as well. We reached late at the base enterance. There is pay and park available and you will be charged around 50 (if i remember is right). For enterance as well there is a fee. Once done your bags will be checked for plastic bags. As you enter there a very good tree cover and this extends all along, after some 20 mins you will reach the zoo, there is the last place where you will get bottled water, after that you are on your own. Plan to conserve you water so that you dont struggle. As we reached late, we had our lunch (lunch box) and then proceeded withe the trek. you can either have lunch at the place near the zoo or you can have it somewhere mid way, there are hutments/ shades created for this. Beware of monkeys, there's a lot of them. After the lunch and the limited water we had most of us started the trek, there are quite a few difficult spots so those who have concerns should determine based on appitite, out gang of senior citizens travelled with us through most of the difficult part but later didn't want to push luck too much and they halted mid way. Did the complete trek and since it was in the noon that we did this , it certainly became intensive and ofcourse we were a little low on water. The last leg is very interesting and exciting as you take support of the railing and complete the trek. By this time you will be out of water (we were), luckly there is a small water tank / cave where you can get water. This saved the day for us, bottle it and we were good to go. All in all, very nice exicting trek Tips: 1. Plan to reach earlier 2. Carry sufficient water 3. Good footware and comfortable wear is a must

We were staying at JenJon Villa in Karjat and the helpful staff guided us to this place. Its a wonderful experience of trekking. We started early morning and the entire trek lasted abut 4 hours. For first time trekkers we faced a bit problem during trek but still its really recommended place for adventure seekers. If your are a first time trekker then you must ensure that you carry a lot of water with you and take some snacks too. Ensure the place is not littered. Ensure that you remain safe during the climb & journey. Do it slowly. Be in group & don't try any heroics. Our JenJon guides helped us have a safe climb At the top of the hill of fort it is beautiful.

Took a horse to go to lousia point. Horseman was very vocal and was talking about place. He was very nice to take beautiful pic of us at the lions head point.. He was patient and allowed us to enjoy the beauty. View from here was breathtaking and we could see all past points we saw that day from this point. Worth visiting

Korlai town is located about 25km south of Alibag. As you pass through the town towards the hill you are greeted with amazing views of the Arabian Sea, the beach, the Light house and the hill atop which lies the Korlai fort. The path leading to the light house is cemented but narrow, it’s better to park the car at the beginning and walk up. When we went, the light house was not open to public. The trek to the fort begins at the light house. It’s an uphill path and requires some climbing. The trek is fairly easy and the views from the top are amazing. We did this with a 7 and a 10yr old.The fort although in ruins, still has a lot of charm. Take your time to soak in the views, explore the fort which includes bastions, a remnant of a church, canons, etc. The fort was built by the Portuguese and was later under the Marathas. I would give the whole thing at least 2-3 hours to enjoy the beauty of this place.

Totally underestimated this trek to be an easy one but after completing this trek I would rate it to be moderate one. There are two ways to reach this fort , one by taking the toy train railroute and the other is from Fanaswadi village. I would suggest you to start your trek by taking the Fanaswadi route and trek all the way to the top. First stop we took was at a Temple, then we continued towards the Peb fort. The view from top is just mesmerizing with lush green mountains. We took the rail route to get back to Neral station. Best time to visit this fort would be during the monsoons. _ _ _ I would like to request you all to not throw your garbage anywhere and destroy the beauty of the place. Instead keep a litter bag with you and hang on to litter until you find a garbage receptacle._ _ _

If you are planning to visit alibaug on weekend, then I suggest you to book your rooms at least a day before of your arrival. Many restaurants are available to fill your hunger and I suggest you to try sea food. Water sports like banana boat, sofa ride, parasailing etc. are available. Beach is clean and nice. Don't forget to visit Birla temple, Kashid beach, alibaug beach, Mandwa beach and Janjira fort.
