Many thanks to Ed, the resident gunsmith, for his great ideas and suggestions in my recent exercise of "reimagining" an old rifle! I appreciated his delicate touch in the work required and his masterful problem solving. Superb service and great work! Thanks!

Lazy Day Raft Rentals is a self guided tour down the Bow river in Calgary. We give you everything you need to float through parks and neighbourhoods on the lazy river. We will even pick you up at your hotel. Conveniently located opposite Princes Island Park, you can choose from a 2 hour float to 4 hours. Bring a snack and sit back and enjoy. This is fun for the whole family.
Great value for the price, which included a parking spot while we were rafting and the raft was already inflated at the starting point (Baker Park). At the end of rafting down the Bow River (Calgary, Alberta), staff met us at the river. Helped us dock the raft. Then they took the raft out of the river and back to the rental office. The raft, oars and pump were of very good quality.

Finally getting around to reviewing the Spectre Upstairs theatrical escape room that we did in October. I had never done a theatrical escape room before so we weren’t sure what to expect. But I was absolutely blown away by literally every second of this experience. The intro scene really set the tone for the story and I loved the way the story was made specifically for the venue. It really added to the immersive quality of the event and that, along with the great use of costumes and props, really helped us lose ourselves in the experience. The actors were incredible, each one was both hilarious but somehow still flawlessly in character the whole time. It’s tough to choose a favourite. We have done quite a few escape rooms and I was surprised that with everything else going on, the puzzles in this experience were still really challenging, unexpected, and occasionally unapologetically whimsical in the best possible way. I hadn’t anticipated the way that having actors involved really changes the game for what’s possible with puzzles. I had initially thought the tickets were a bit on the expensive side, but after seeing the meticulous level of detail that went into every aspect and the flawless experience design that went into running such a professional event with so many people solving puzzles simultaneously and yet not being in each other’s way, it was worth every penny. In fact, it might be tough to go back to regular rooms now!

The Locked Room is Calgary's interactive escape room. Teams of 3-10 people try to solve puzzles in a scenario in order to reach the eventual goal of escaping the room. The Locked Room LTD. was Calgary's very first escape room in Calgary. Established August 2014.
16yo daughter came with friends for birthday. First escape room without any adults and they all had a blast! They escaped with 2 hints. I sat and waited for them and staff were very friendly. The kids want to go back now and try one from the next difficulty level.

What an awesome place... we had so far played only on the phone apps so were very excited but skeptical about real experience ... read the reviews here, called them and went ahead ... me and my wife visited with our 5 yr old... First, they considered the our state, recommended the find the jewel game which is Novice level yet challenging... gave us great price.. But when we reached, the real thing started.. the game master girl was ausum. Welcoming, helpful... the place was cozy, safe .. when we entered the room, the puzzles were really challenging, the game master helped just enough to keep us going.. it was so much fun, even my 5 yr old helped and enjoyed ... We are still talking about the experience, I recommend to every enthusiast.

Archery Games Calgary is the very first indoor archery tag facility in Calgary Alberta. Teams of 3-10 battle it out in the indoor archery arena.
Archery games is a bit like dodge ball but with foam tip arrows. Everyone gets a bow, a sanitized protective face mask and an optional arm guard. We had a 15 minutes tutorial and practice with the referree on how to load the arrow unto the bow and how to shoot. Yes there is a technique to it. The playing field has a good size for a maximum of 20 players (10 on each side). We were 14 players and it was sometimes tight. There is a neutral zone in the middle where the arrows are laid down at the start of each game. No one can shoot at you or be shot at when in that zone. The referee explained the different games really well. Everyone was a bit tentative at first but it didn't take long to get it and elevate the intensity of the game. It's important that players wear runners and a light t-shirt as it got pretty warm running back and forth. You can wear shorts too. My mask was fogging up a bit and I heard the same from others but nothing to stop you from playing. If you wear eye glasses it will be a bit harder to fit the mask on but I suggest you bring your contact lenses. We played for one hour and had a load of fun. I'd say it's a high intensity game and will make you sweat so come prepared. There are inflatable bunkers that were brought onto the field for one game and it was fun to be able to hide behind to reload. Also, another game saw couple of soft balls thrown in the mix. If you didn't have time to reload, you could kill a player with a ball. Whenever someone got hit with an arrow or a ball, that person moved to the bench on the sideline and if one of their teammate hit one of the target of the opposing side, they buy one of the teammate's life back and they can return to play. The goal is to hit all of the players on the other side but with the possibility to buy a life back, the game can last a while. Loved the fact we had a referee as she was managing the game and coached us throughout. I would highly recommend this for any sport or office team that is looking for a physical team building. The other good thing about this is; archery games is located in the same complex as Locked Room so I had the other half of my group playing escape rooms which worked perfectly well for us. Two small negative comments about archery games: They have lockers so you can secure your valuable but they don't supply the lock. You can rent one or bring your own. At $25, I think they should provide water for players but they don't but you can buy it there as well or bring your own. Of note, they have a league that plays regularly, which sounds like a ton of fun! You have to be 7 years to play.
