Very many thanks to Andy and Paula who were our guides at Shoreham Lifeboat Station for giving up their valuable time in order to allow our Worthing Photography Group to have a very interesting and enjoyable visit. The hospitality provided by Andy and Paula to us was first class. Nothing was too much trouble and made us all very welcome and accomodated us in every way they could as a photography group in order for us to get the best shots possible within the safety limits. We were all given as much additional time as we wanted so we could get those 'special' shots! The information given was very interesting and certainly gave us an insight as to how the station, crews and boats operate in clearly very demanding situations. It was quite clear how much of a team effort goes in to making the station operate in a friendly and safe way. Every one of our group was impressed with how interesting and enjoyable our visit was made. Finally, I'd like to pass on grateful thanks to everybody at the station who give up their time and put themselves at risk to provide assistance to those in need at sea.Having been a seafarer a few years back it was always reassuring to know that there was a reliable service to help us if the need was ever to rise.

I had a trip around the brewery at Partridge Green, with friends, which was very informative and led by a very informative guide, Graham. We were taken through the whole brewing process, from water to end product including the canning process. Staff at the brewery were really friendly and we were invited to hep ourselves to five different beers throughout the visit. The brewery shop has branded clothing, beers on tap and bottled cans and beers from their own brews as well as brews both local and from near and far. A very worthwhile trip.

Love the Windmill Cinema. Great cosy cinema with big screen. Seats aren't the comfyest but ok. Staff friendly, clean cinema, small and neat. Reasonable priced tickets. Knocks spots off the big chain cinemas which i try to avoid. When there are 2 local cinemas, inc Bognor, why go elsewhere?! Back again on Saturday, look forward to my film fix

Saint Hill Manor

This is a beautifully restored castle. Very detail oriented. One can get free tours of the castle and the manor. L Ron Hubbard was the last owner of the castle and one can learn about his life. He loved to live there. I can see why, it is simply beautiful, the rolling hills and lot's of space around, it's a good place to take an afternoon walk and explore the castle.

The most amazing castle I have ever visited. The gardens are beautiful with so many beautiful features, with the beautiful Arundel Cathedral as a back drop. Outside and inside this is a wonderful Cathedral Church, honouring St. Mary the Virgin and St. Philip Howard. It is full of the most amazing sculptures and memorials. The cathedral is not old (1873) so all of the architecture is crisp and clean, but it follows traditional designs and looks so.much like the cathedrals of Notre Dame or Mont Saint Michel on the outside. The special features to look out for are: The stations of the cross The tomb of Saint Philip the Martyr The stunning altars Fabulous stained glass windows, especially the circular west window Two 12th Century large carvings of 'The Raising of Lazarus' The Tapestry and altar drapes 16th Century paintings of the Kings of England and Wales

Pallant House Gallery

Pallant House Gallery is one of Britain's most distinctive modern art museums, located in the heart of historic Chichester. It tells the story of British art from 1900 to now through original exhibitions and a world-class collection. In 20 galleries, housed in a Queen Anne townhouse with a striking contemporary wing, discover artworks by many of the greats of British modern art including Lucian Freud, Barbara Hepworth, John Piper, Peter Blake and contemporary artists Tracey Emin and Damien Hirst.

Chichester is indeed fortunate to have the Pallant House Galley which is home to one of the best collections of 20th century British art, housed in the early 18th century Pallant House in Chichester was extended with a new modern extension in 2006. You can tell how much I value visiting the Gallery by the fact that I drove for an hour and a half from London to see both the works on show from the permanent collection and also the current special exhibitions. Among the different special exhibitions across the Gallery, the 'stand-out' exhibition has to be 'Barnett Freedman: Designs for Modern Britain', exploring the work of Barnett Freedman who moved from painting to become one of the most sought-after British commercial designers in the mid-20th century. He is relatively unknown, but his work was seen by many people at the time on posters, in books and in art. He was an amazing artist of his age. The Gallery also has an excellent bookshop and a cafe which appeared to be very popular for morning coffee and for lunch, for which bookings were advised, and where seating spills out into the courtyard that joins the historic building and the new extension together. The only downside for me, which is nothing to do with the Gallery, was the city car park nearby. Paying for parking was slow and tedious and I had to give up at one point and start again.
