My dad's girlfriend is Italian and she booked the visit and translated for the owner. I was amazed that the grotto kept a steady temperature for winter and for summer so the grotto was surprisingly warm and cosy despite the chilly winter wind outside. The owner gave us a thorough tour of the place and showed us all kinds of interesting things, from the photos of the grotto families, to the inventive toys that the children used to play, to his son's beautiful artwork that was up for sale. The owner was especially excited talking to us as I was filming with my DSLR and he was eager to have a video of his grotto aiming for an English audience. I was promised to send him a link when I finish it so wish me luck on it!

Visit Of The Wine-factory. Explanation Of The Winemaking Process. Conventional And Biological Wine Tastings With Sicilian Typical Products. Wonderful Location With Views On Scicli From The High.
Attended a wine tasting here this evening. Short tour of a small wine making plant then sat in their beautiful terrace for a wonderful dinner accompanied by 6 different wines all of which were delicious. We’ve left with 9 litres of wine! The whole experience was an absolute bargain at €18 per head. Best night of our trip so far. Definitely worth travelling to if you’re in Sicily

If you have any jnterest in architecture or churches this is another example of wonderful baroque building with an interior so beautiful that you can easy spend time just looking upwards to the vaulted knave and immense columns either side. Really lovely place and not over run with tourism at least at the time we visited.

Opened to visitors since 2007, the Museum of Costume is situated on the groundfloor of a former convent in Mormina Penna Street in the historical centre of Scicli which is UNESCO town. The Museum is made up of 6 sections which are renewed periodically, offering a complete historical frame of the Costumes in the Hyblean area supplied with documentary evidence and, also generally, regarding Sicily and the Mediterranean territory.

Yes if you are a fan on Inspector Montalbano you will know where I mean. The quaint town of Scicli is the fictional town of Vigata where much of the filming is done in the Town Hall. A beautiful medieval town with lots of squares, churches and coffee shops to explore, apart from the architecture and views. Really charming town. For fans of Montalbano there are various excursions that can be arranged and I believe they will also let you see his office for a fee. The town itself is worth a visit.

Hi we booked a local villa for a group staying for two weeks. I contacted this merchant a month before by e mail on website asking them to put together 3 cases of Sicilian wine one red one white and a mixed case of sparkling /dessert. I suggested an average price of 10-15 euros per bottle. About five days later a worked out list of recommendations came. I paid by transfer and picked up on day of arrival. Reds whites superb sparking less memorable. Lots of wines in the shop at many different prices including some cask stuff sold by the gallon in plastic containers at a very reasonable rate. Highly recommend going to this place - the stuff in the supermarkets is pretty bland when compared .
