Brigitte Bardot frolicked on the beaches of St. Tropez in the '50s; now it's the playground of rap stars and international socialites. Most of the sandy hot spots lie southwest of town on the Baie de Pampelonne. But if you're not P. Diddy, take heart: you'll find a few family-friendly, public beaches where the sun, sand and waves are just as fabulous.

The main door is richly decorated with porphyre green ‘serpentinite’. The bell tower is the vestige of one of the 4 watchtowers which formed part of the original fortifications. The left-hand side corresponds to the wall of the ancient rampart. In the third arch, there is reliquary bust of St Andrew, patron of the parish. There is also a plaque commemorates the memory of the crews of 4 submarines.

We had the loveliest bottle of wine in a restaurant from Château Minuty so thought we would go for a tasting. It was a lovely experience and we tasted 6 wines then purchased 8 bottles, not bad going. I love this wine and I love Château Minuty.
