Was in Auburn maybe July 29, 2020 to August 24, 2020 (Doggy Sitting)! Morning times before get too hot temperature of weather, would walk to Old Town Auburn and Downtown Auburn! Three times come to this Auburn Visitor Center! So very helpful employees, so very helpful volunteers! Like many Visitor Centers they greet you, ask where you from! Found out of a Tevis Cup, one day race so many miles with your horse! Wow, that sounds interesting! Thank you then to employees and to volunteers at this Auburn, California in Placer County, Visitor Center!

It was a perfect place to see art and relax after lunch in Old Auburn. My 16 year old son really took the time to look at everything and explain the different types of techniques used by the artists that he has learned in art class.

Great small, local museum that covers the history of Roseville as told by what was the local telephone company. Docent that gave me a tour was very knowledgeable about both the early history of telephones and the local community. Both grew together.

Our instructor, Jim MacDonald, was superb and made us all feel at ease and safe which allowed us to have tons of fun. The equipment is clean and in good condition. A first rate experience overall and we can't wait to do it again!

Placer County Historical Museum

Reviewed By pwillard

My daughter and I visited the museum. Based on internet information and/or signage, we had the impression this museum was closed due to Covid. We were walking by this beautiful stately building and decided to walk up to the doorway...it was open and we went inside. This is when we found out the museum was open. We had a wonderful visit. This was enhanced by the fact we got to go to a real indoor museum after over a year of doing everything outdoors. The docent at the museum was friendly, helpful and gave great suggestions about what to view in the building. We viewed all the exhibits and then went to the upper floors to view the beautiful hallways on the courtroom floors. The courtrooms were locked, so we could not see inside unfortunately. If you are in Placer County Old Town area, don't miss coming here. It will only take you about an hour, and you will learn a lot about local and California history.
