The Museum of Australia's oldest surviving and most decorated Regiment. Guided by a retired Lancer, discover the history of mainland Australia's oldest military barracks and its oldest and most decorated Regiment, the 1st/15th Royal NSW Lancers. Hear about the wars in which it has fought and its glittering ceremonial history as Australia's Vice-Regal Escort. View the development of the Regiment's uniforms, equipment, means of communication on the battlefield, combat rations and weapons, from the days of horse and lance in the Boer War, through Gallipoli and Palestine as Light Horse in WW1, the tanks it used to mount Australia's largest ever armoured assault in WW2 to its role as armoured reconnaissance today. Inspect a rare example of the worlds first sub-machine gun, an even rarer example of the worlds first anti-tank weapon and, maybe, see the world from inside one of our heritage armoured fighting vehicles, most of which have been restored to full mobility.
My wife and I visited Lancer Barracks Museum earlier this week and have no hesitation in recommending this heritage location to anybody interested in military history or Australian Colonial History. We were given a very informative and entertaining guided tour of the museum and surrounding grounds by a volunteer guide which took over two hours. There are some very important and rare military items on display and all the exhibits are displayed in a very professional manner. The colonial buildings in the grounds go back as far as 1820 and are in excellent condition. There also a number of rare and restored military vehicles adjacent to the main museum. Strongly recommended.

We went here recently with a work group and had such a fantastic time. We did both the Mexican Cartel room and the Insane Asylum rooms and both groups had a great time. Great team bonding activity and so many laughs. And our game master was awesome

Our aim is to entertain and bring you an hour of fun in Sydney by transporting you to a magical world of mischief and mayhem. We challenge you to find, solve and achieve. We are SCRAM Escape Rooms, and we Welcome you to The Wizard Chambers escape game. An Escape Room is a physical adventure game where players are locked in a room and must solve a variety of puzzles in order to escape.
Shout out to Jess, 10/10 experience in the space room. The puzzle in my opinion was more on the easier side, but I still enjoyed the experience as a first time escaper! Space room is great for beginners!

We aim to involve, entertain, enrich, inspire, delight and intrigue artists and audiences from Parramatta and beyond with live performance, events, festivals and community gatherings.
A very nice, well equipped, friendly venue that puts on really slick first class theatrical performances. Good lighting, decent sound, decent seating, and a reasonably priced refreshment stand with decent wines. It is close to a major parking garage and not too far away from public transport (ferries, trains, buses). It is also in the restaurant district so plenty of places to eat and drink, before and after the performance. One of the best theatres I've been to anywhere in the world.

Visiting Australia's oldest public building was a bucket list item for me and my visit to Old Government House was very nice. It is a bit confusing because you have to buy tickets at the back then walk around the front to enter. Nevertheless, inside is like walking back in time as you go through the dining room, drawing room, breakfast room and bedroom which feel like their 19th century occupants are going to come back in at any moment. Upstairs is an exhibition about the wives of the early NSW Governors and other women involved in the House's history which was OK. It is not a huge building but one of massive historical significance so I would heartily recommend making time to come out to Parramatta and see it. An hour is more than enough for a visit of the rooms that are open. My one issue was that I was not offered a discounted joint ticket to go and visit the Experiment Farm Cottage later on as this would have saved me a few dollars. It is also quite a walk from Parramatta station in hot weather so bring plenty of water.

This wonderful historic church was gutted by fire, and a beautiful job has been done of creating a modern place of peace and worship filled with natural light, encased in the original sandstone facade and stained glass. Perfect for the modern Parramatta in the cradle of modern Australia

Awesome resource :) Uli took the time to find out our requirements and then planned a really interesting walk around Parramatta for us. Conversation then moved on to our future plans and she helped us plan our campervan trip to Brisbane, providing maps and suggestions of routes and places we might enjoy. There is also a shop with unique and quite beautiful objects - we have kangaroos and koalas for our christmas tree plus aboriginal art work to take home.

2019: Open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 10am - 4pm and the first Saturday of the month from 11am - 4pm (excluding public holidays and long weekends). The Female Orphan School (1813) on the Parramatta Campus of Western Sydney University is one of the most significant heritage sites in NSW. Now home to the Whitlam Institute and the Margaret Whitlam Galleries, which exhibit art and social history exhibitions. The complex institutional history of the building is evident throughout. A unique and special place to visit and explore.
Wonderful way of getting a glimpse into Australia's early colonial history. Past Times Tours does excellent and informative visits in this area
