July 9, 2021 Velvet Mowry

Typified by steep mountains and the flat lowlands where they meet the Norwegian Sea, Nordland is known for its stunning scenery. The Lofoten Islands off the mainland are considered among the world's best for travelers and include unique attractions like the Lofotr Viking Museum at Borg. Saltstraumen near Bodo has the world's strongest tidal current. Further south, Vega has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its age-old lifestyle of fishing and eider duck down harvesting.

Narvik Krigsmuseum

The museum has a large collection from WWII. The museum tells the stories of WWII in North Norway and the dramatic fight for Narvik i 1940. The museum has a section devoted to universal questions related to war and human rights. The quality and design of the exhibition is exquisite and must be experienced!

In this museum you find out the significance of Narvik and northern Norway in the second world war. It's less technical war museum and brings more the humanity aspect to it. It's actually more about the futility and waste of human lives that comes with wars.

Galleri Lofoten

Gallery Lofoten has Norway’s largest collection of paintings from Northern Norway dating back to the turn of the last century – a period by many called the golden age of North Norwegian painting. On the gallery’s ground floor you find a collection of paintings by renowned artists like Otto Sinding, Gunnar Berg, Even Ulving, Adelsteen Normann, Einar Berger, Ole Juul, Thorolf Holmboe and others. Stormen library

Reviewed By Bodo2020 - Bodo, Norway

You must go there to see for yourself. This is a library with a view over the harbour in Bodø, a town in North Norway with over 50 000 inhabitants. I don`t think noone have such a wonderful prospect. It`s pieacfully to sit and read a newspaper og just relex. It`s lots of space. There is also a cafè in the building. And maybe you are lucky to see small exhibitions like paintings made of young pupils, or art made of older students. Sometimes there is readings for kids, sometimes dancing and plays. The building where the library are, is only 5 years old. Last time I visited the library, was at "Kulturnatt 2019", where I watch many ballettdancers showing several dancers from their upcoming christmasshow "Nøtteknekkeren". Nice :)
