A fantastic traditional pub with clean & comfortable bedrooms. A large selection of drinks, great prices & dog friendly (dogs are allowed into the bar but are not able to stay overnight). The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. One of the cheapest places to stay locally. The ambiance of the pub is perfect, whether you are calling in for a quiet drink or meeting up with friends. The building is full of character with a real coal fire, grandfather clock, wooden floors, old paintings & vinyl player. Many board games available & a darts board. The terrace/smoking area is heated and sheltered over one half which is suited to all seasons. Other features of the pub include free parking (at the rear of the pub) & free Wi-Fi. The pub regularly holds events such as charity quiz nights, live entertainment and charity days. The only full Time, dedicated comedy club in Staffordshire. Top circuit comedians, TV names and up and coming talent live on stage every Friday and Saturday night. Full bar and food available as well as private parties and gift vouchers.
....An amazing night at ROFL! Me and the hubby attended the World One Liner Championships last night and had a brilliant night of top notch comedy and laughter. A variety of comedians all with their own personality and style of delivery. We, the audience, got to vote on each one in order to determine the winner who won the World One Liner Championship Belt. It was full on laughter from start to finish and I have to mention Cokey, the resident MC who was soooo funny too!

Discover the lost industrial heritage of the Apedale Valley and the history of the surrounding area when you visit this unique attraction. We are located in the beautiful Apedale Community Country Park, North Staffordshire, in an area that was once an industrial powerhouse. At weekends and Bank Holidays we offer tours of an authentic drift mine. Mine tours run on the hour from 11am until the last tour at 3pm. Tours cost £6 for adults and £4 for children (over 5 only) and senior citizens. Group bookings may also be made for schools and organisations etc. Please enquire via our website or at our Reception Desk. Our museum is also open at weekends and Bank holidays, plus several week days. There you can learn about the industries and history of Apedale and the local area. There will usually be a guide on hand who will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. There are several quiz sheets for children of all ages to have fun discovering the artifacts and information in the museum. These are sited on a table in the Roman section and available free of charge. Entry to the museum is free, although we'd appreciate it if you dropped a donation in our red box! The cafe is open every day, so even if you are just passing, you can come in for a cuppa [and a warm!] or to try some North Staffordshire Oatcakes, a speciality of the Potteries. We look forward to seeing you and/or your family and friends soon!
