This was a much needed venue to have in this area. The quality of the building is beautiful! The type of entertainment we now attract is top quality. It is nice to go & hear music in the setting that lends to hearing its full effect. The acoustics are very good. The seats are comfortable. You have a good view from almost any where in the audience. There are some tight places with seats close to railings that you must be careful. There’s several areas that make it easy to enter with a wheelchair. So if you are physically challenged don’t keep away. Call the center & they can help you. If you have a chance to go to a performance, please do! I think you’ll love it!!

Love visiting both of Susie's Midland stores to sample the goodies and bring home an arrangement of chocolates and toffee.

The George W. Bush Childhood Home is truly a unique place in American history. Home to two Presidents, two Governors and a First Lady, this remarkable 1950s restoration gives visitors a unique perspective of the Bush family and their legacy, insight into the restoration of this modest home and provides an interesting view of life in 1950s Midland.
This site is currently closed, ostensibly not to Covid19, but rather to home restorations. Still worth a drive by to see the ordinary, humble beginnings that shaped our 43rd President, George W. Bush.

Welcome to the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum. Founded in 1975 by over 500 community leaders under the leadership of George T. Abell, the Museum tells the story of petroleum and the rugged lives of men and women who sought a better life. What started as a community dream has, over time, become the nation's largest museum dedicated to the petroleum industry and its pioneers. The Petroleum Museum has welcomed over one million visitors worldwide. It shares the petroleum and energy story and its impact on our daily lives through educational programs, interactive exhibits, an archives center and its Petroleum Hall of Fame. A visit to the Petroleum Museum is an amazing journey through over 230 million years of history. Located in the heart of the Permian Basin, the Petroleum Museum offers over 40,000 square feet of interactive education and entertainment for adventurers of all ages. The mission of the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum is to share the petroleum and energy story and its impact on our lives.
Very interesting place to explore. Indoor scene has fascinating stuff to discover. Outside are trails that lead to oil field scenes from way back in history. Lots of old antiques from oilfield from way back in the old times and progressive to more modern stuff. Pretty cool experience.

Since the early 1960's I have missed few productions at Midland Community theatre. How anybody expects more from a volunteeer theatre I will never know! Accolades are all that I have to offer from the staff to the actors to the backstage to the audiences. This is a grand place for a grand evening or afternoon. Clean, neat, professional and most of all friendly at all times. Unruly children with ignoring parents are sometimes a detriment but that is not the fault of the theatre. Best bang for the buck in town!! I give it 10 circles!!!!

I wrote a review back in 2015 and I’ve been again and it is stunning! You must revisit if you haven’t been in awhile! It’s been renovated and right now during the holidays, it is just STUNNING!! Don’t miss the Derby room with our own 2 Derby winners from 1959 and 1987 and all the memorabilia, trophies, etc! And the art rooms are full of beautiful pieces. The planetarium has great shows, and the kids will love the children’s museum. There is the farmers market and activities year round. Check the calendars for events or just go experience the mansion built in the 30’s. It’s really beautiful.

Summer Mummers must be experienced, it's hard to explain with mere words. Take a trip back in time to a salon in west Texas with dancing girls, villains, the good guys and of course a damsel in distress needing to be rescued. The slap-stick comedy is great. The first part is the play. The second part is the Oleo which is filled with jokes and dancing. When you arrive to the Yucca Theater, not only are you transported in time, but you become friends with everyone in the place. You'll understand why drinking beer out of a covered mug and straw is a necessity, when you find yourself in a popcorn war with everyone in the joint! I have been several years, and will continue to attend. I've brought a management team from work, friends and family. It's fun for all, but leave the kids at home!
