The Great Witley Church is the U.K.’s finest baroque church. It is absolutely beautiful. The ceiling was painted by Antonio Bellucci. There are three main pictures, The Ascension, The Decent from the Cross, and The Nativity. Surrounding the three main paintings, are ten smaller paintings of cherubs. There is a mirror placed in the aisle for a better view of all the details of the ceiling. You can’t image how spectacular it is inside from what you see on the outside. It is an active church that holds regular services, concerts, and various other events. If you are in the area it is a fantastic place to go, the Witley Court is right next to the Great Witley Church, the crypt below was open when we visited (that is also worth checking out), and there is a wonderful tea room within walking distance.

The Hop Shed is a wonderful asset to the parish and county and to all beer drinkers. This unique venue opens on Fridays and Saturdays (see times) and regularly serves super food to compliment the drink. This is a remarkably friendly establishment which has had nationwide coverage on tv. Just go and experience The Hop Shed.....

The birthplace of Sir Edward Elgar, now in the stewardship of the National Trust, houses an extensive collection of Elgar memorabilia.
The staff were so well informed , interesting and easy to talk to. It was a most informative visit even for non music lovers. My husband is a professional musician but I've little musical knowledge, yet it was still so interesting. The new visitors centre and shop and cafe have a wide choice of items. The menu was varied yet the cheese and orange marmalade sandwiches were amazing. We went round the visitors centre first then did Elgars birthplace The Firs on the same site. What lovely guides who welcomed us , they explained the rooms and the history. Easy access for all, except the upper floors of The Firs. The garden had musical instruments to try , even for me it was fun. Then in Elgars garden they have a bronze statue of him sitting on a bench looking over the Malven Hills, very clever. I really had a great day.

Small it may be but the collections of local history make it a fascinating visit. Malvern's history from the water cure doctors to Morgan cars and the WW2 radar developments make Malvern a very special town that 'punches well above its weight'. Well worth a visit !

Wonderful parish church, originally a Benedictine priory. Having largely escaped the depredations of the reformers and puritans, many early details remain, including the spectacular 15th century stained glass windows. Much to admire and enjoy in this lovely place. Well worth the visit.
