We are up for the weekend for London and made a last minute booking with activity centre. They were very accommodating. We did clay pigeon shooting and quad biking. It could not have been better fun. Money well spent in my opinion. The safety briefings were clear and well explained. Guidance all the way on each activity. I would highly recommend it.

My first class after many lovely online sessions during lockdown was Restore on Tuesday morning. Only four of us in a spacious studio, and we brought our own mats. Easy to book online, studio is calm and beautiful, social distancing is spot-on. I felt safe.

What a great pub The New Union has become under the new landlord. Four cask ales that change every few days, craft keg beers too, and more ciders than you can shake a stick at. There's always something going on at The New Union. Before the lockdown it was Quiz Night, Music Night, Vegan Food Night, Craft Afternoon, Whisky Tasting, Thai Food Night, the list goes on... During lockdown it was Online Whisky Tastings, Online Music Sessions, Cask Beer Take Away (contactless through the window!!), Full Online Shop, the list goes on again... After lockdown, it's pop-up Fish 'n' Chip Fridays, pop-up Burger Night Saturdays, socially distanced picnic benches in the car park, new benches on the covered decking, and now a full "Traditional Pub Grub" food offering Monday to Thursday with a new chef, extra staff and carefully chosen social distancing adaptations inside. The list still goes on... Phil never stops innovating, and puts customer service at the top of every new idea. I could not be more pleased that The New Union is my local ????

Immerse yourself in Lake District History at the Museum of Lakeland Life and Industry. Inside you can explore a typical Victorian farmers home from the food in the kitchen, to the elegance of the parlour. Other galleries tell the story of the Arts and Crafts movement, and the industrial history of this beautiful part of the world. Here you can discover the Lake District’s past in farming, mining, tanning, and many other ways that people have made a living amongst the fells. The Museum allows you to discover how people have lived in the Lake District and how the unique landscape has shaped their lives. You can also find out about Arthur Ransome, one of the Lake District’s most famous authors, and colourful characters.
