The crags and grottoes of Capri have been dazzling visitors since the Ancient Greeks first settled the island. It’s easy to understand why artists and writers have been immortalizing Capri’s beauty and history for centuries. Climb aboard a wooden boat to tour the Grotto Azzurra, a cave filled with spectacularly blue water. Savor some gelato while you stroll around the harbors of Marina Piccola or Marina Grande, an ancient Roman fishing port.

Workshop The authentic ceramics of Capri Island.
After recently visiting Capri and choosing our purchase we are absolutely delighted when it arrived safe and sound today in our Manchester home, it’s beautiful. Ceramiche Tavassi apart from being a talented bunch couldn’t have been more helpful arranging and overseeing the shipping back to the UK. Many many thanks and we couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Hope to visit the wonderful Amalfi coast very soon. Jamie & Michelle

Church from the 17th century with its notable San Michele statue and splendid antique ceramic floor.
This 18th century Baroque church has an amazing majolica floor mosaic depicting the original sin and paradise filled with animals and dating to 1761. An incredible monument to see.

The Museum Ignazio Cerio owes its origins to the untiring efforts of Doctor Ignazio Cerio, an Island physician, who constituted it as a family museum towards the middle of the XIX century, but was formally established as a public museum in 1949. The museum consists in 4 rooms: the geology and palaeontology room, the prehistoric and protohistoric room, the zoology and botany room and the archaeology room with over 20.000 naturalistic and archaeological finds which were gathered by Ignazio Cerio on Capri.

The story goes that in 1948, the Prior of the Monastery discovered the old formulas of perfumes, licensed from the Pope revealed to a chemical Torino, who created the smallest laboratory of the world and called it "Carthusia" ie "Certosa". Today the tradition is perpetuated, the limited production methods are the same ones used by the Carthusian monks, all preparations are made from natural raw materials of high quality and even the finished product is hand-wrapped. The essence derived from rosemary picked on Monte Solaro befitting to man, while the wild pink Capri is the basis of feminine products.
well if you are an avid shopper like me, you would be tempted to buy stuffs and along the Shopping Alleys in the Vicinity of the Piazzetta and while going to the famous Giardino Di Augustino to have a wonderful view of the Faraglioni Rocks, we happen to see a rather nice perfumery along the street of Via Matteotti (they have other branches in Capri and around the Bay of Naples area) called Carthusia Profumi Di Capri, which is an artisanal perfumerie established more than 200 years ago. The outlet is one of their factories that produces artisanal perfumes, bath soaps, fragrances, oils, essense and a lot more. they have a wide variety of perfumes, eau de colognes, eau de toilette, bath accessories, oils, frangrances and even lemon inspired fragrances and bath items as well. I bought a 75 ml of Sfusato Lemon inspired Eau De Cologne at 55 euros. Opens: 9:00 am to 8:00 pm everyday

We visited Aldo a couple of times during our visit to Capri and he took personal care of my wife and paired with several shoes and sandals that are hand made in the shop. Aldo was so friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome as we talked of the local yore and their family business. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are on the the island...my pair of loafers fit like a glove.
