We are a collective of language teachers who desire to share our passion for Spanish with you. We strive to provide an ideal balance between strong language instruction, cultural experiences, and the practice of communication that binds them together.
My girlfriend and I had two weeks of Spanish classes and we learned a lot. We are now able to understand and initiate mostly all daily routine conversations and talk about topics relevant for our travels. The classes with Mayra have been fun and fruitful the the same time. There was always a bit of homework too. We did 5 hours a day which is a bit too much I think but you can settle for all sorts of schedules. Of course we kept the books to study a bit more during our travels. Wouldn't such a Spanish course make your travels better? What do you think?

This museum is small, it is also free. The main theme is leather and musical culture of the city. The street it’s on is closed off to traffic. There is also a beautiful white building next to it. It’s right next to the central plaza and church, you can’t miss it.

The Living Otavalo Museum was created in 2011 to preserve the culture of the indigenous Otavalenos. The museum is situated in what used to be a Spanish Hacienda in 1821. In 1958, the building was founded as the textile factory of San Pedro, where many indigenous people were forced to work in conditions similar to slavery. The historic architecture is preserved today in the museum. Currently, the Living Museum exhibits indigenous customs, live demonstrations of traditional weaving with the back strap, and the architecture that still exists from 1820.
This living museum is amazing and everyone in our group left wanting to recommend this experience to others. It is a must do while in Otavalo! Our tour guide and the president of the museum Renee met us with the best energy, smile, and rich history. Hearing him tell the history of this living museum project was an amazing experience. I learned so much during our tour and left feeling like the story of this group needs to be heard worldwide. It is a story of perseverance, family, and overcoming many hardships. It was amazing to see the traditions of this group brought to life with Renee as our guide. 100% recommend! Tours are in Spanish, but if you need English just call ahead and they will arrange a translator to be there. Please support this project while learning this rich, important history from this amazing group!

This shop has items that are related to riding and horses, so mostly saddles, boots, and other items for that activity. Still, there are enough other items such as wallets and belts to make it worth looking into.

Know how we brew in Ecuador, the local ingredients we use and the fascinating history behind beer in Ecuador. Taste different kinds of beer and enjoy the food that was built around the beer ingredients. Life the Caran Experience.
I wasn’t expecting this in Otavalo. Our cab into town dropped us off right in front of this place. “Beer experience”? We’re in. We had the 6 beer sampler and loved the quality and diversity of the beers. The music and hip atmosphere just add to the experience. If you’re in town and want a warm respite from rotating between “Club” and “Pilsner”, this is your place.
