This pleasingly peculiar market town is rife with old mills and flapjack-like "upstairs-downstairs" houses. Annual festivals, theatrical productions and parades pump the locals (and tourists) with life. Don’t miss the Hardcastle Crags or hiking along the gorgeous Pennine Way, and be sure to have a stroll along the inspirational Rochdale Canal.

I attended the weekend on the wheel course back in August. I can't recommend it enough. If you want a class where you get to spend hours and hours working on the wheel combined with expert demonstrations from an amazing tutor then this is the place to do it! This was my first pottery course and I am so pleased with what I was able to learn and accomplish in 2 days. Edyn puts so much effort into making sure everyone in the class comes away with some lovely pieces. Lunch was provided, as well as tea and coffee throughout the day....although to be fair....no one wanted to leave the wheel for a 2nd brew. Highly addictive and very therapeutic. Money well spent! Thanks to Edyn and her team x

Based in quirky Hebden Bridge and the historic Piece Hall in Halifax we are a retail shop selling high quality games, puzzles, toys, scooters, skateboards, kites, flying toys, remote control cars, drones and other cool stuff. We have a loyal following and appeal to local and out of town visitors. Our staff are always interactive, knowledgeable and friendly. Shopping at Totally Awesome is a unique experience with many of our products open on the demonstration areas. We actively encourage you to come along and get involved. We always enjoy showing many of our unique and interesting products, many of which you won't find in a high street toy store. We're proud to be different and you won't find many stores like Totally Awesome in the UK.
Evereytime we go into this shop, we experience nothing but fantastic customer service from Lisa. She is always so helpful. Myself and my family love this shop. Turned up. Quick intro and temperatures checked and found a table. All well spaced. No crowding at all. Good decision about how many people to admit kept it busy enough to feel fun for kids. Table service for food. Staff were lovely and helpful. Decent selection of food and very reasonable prices, food was good quality and was very happy with it- some places clearly charge decent prices but the quality reflects every penny saved. Playtopia does provide decent quality food in spite of the price. In terms of the equipment it’s been well thought through. The toddler area is separately clearly from older children’s area which prevents issues with kids running in between. The main section for older kids has two good slides- one big conventional slide and one round and round side. Both were very popular with my son. When the inevitable toilet visit came I can report that the loos are very clean, and it was a nice touch to have the step for the kids to reach the urinals and the smaller toilet seat. Little things like that do show where people running a soft play centre are really considering how to make the experience as good as possible for children. My only note of caution would be finding the location. Sat nav to postcode wants you to go to the wrong turning but it’s just the next road along to get to the venue. There is tonnes of parking next to the building. Couldn’t fault it. Thought it was absolutely superb. Having sampled so so many soft play centres (and in fairness finding nearly all of them to be decent) this one might be the best I have visited. We will be back!

lovely cinema with good leg room and a great cup of tea in a proper mug ! home made ginger cake was fantastic and it even serves alcohol when the film isn't for kids. You can catch live streamed events at reasonable prices and with digital sound it is wonderful to have such a gem of a place right on our doorstep.

I have only visited this venue once but I'm sure it won't be the last time. Set in the glorious town of Hebden Bridge, the venue provides a cosy & intimate setting for an eclectic variety of acts. I had the pleasure to witness Johnny Osbourne, a veteran Reggae artist who had ventured over from Jamaica & was only playing a handful of selected gigs in the UK. The fact that the Trades Club was one of the chosen few is probably testimony to this venue. The sound was first class & a sell out crowd loved every minute. Unlike most music establishments I have been to, the hand pulled real ale was an added plus.

Visited on the afternoon of the opening of an art exhibition. Met the local Mayoress. This venue lies a little distance from the centre of Hebden Bridge. Accessed by means of a cobbled street. Well worth a visit.

Before visiting Hebden Bridge called in for a hot bowel of soup and bread roll. Met Henry a 6 month old dachshund doggie. A group of horse riders called in for a quick tipple of choice. What a good start to the day... a

We were in Hebden Bridge for a gig at The Trades Club, staying at The White Lion and found this lovely little pub when wandering around Hebden! Had our wander around and wandered back to Calans! Hubby loved a few of the different beers and I enjoyed a couple of ciders which were very different and yummy, sloe gin was one! Very friendly and warm place, will return when next in Hebden Bridge!
