The great outdoors is likely to feature prominently in any vacation to Fort Walton Beach. There are two public golf courses in Fort Walton Beach, The Oaks and The Pines, while championship courses such as the one at Regatta Bay are within easy reach. Sea anglers have the opportunity for some fine shore or boat fishing, hunting down the big game fish which populate the waters off the Florida coast. The more adventurous may wish to go surfing - or even take instruction and perform a parachute jump!

Had such a great experience here! We came first for the Mummy Tomb and ended up doing the Mystic Manor it was so much fun. Mimi was great at giving us our hints and pointing us in the right direction, would have been lost without her! Heard the one in Destin was out of commission but cant wait to do those rooms when they reopen, had such a fun time!

We are an educational and cultural institution of long standing traditions. It is our mission to preserve, interpret and present the prehistory and history of the Fort Walton Beach community and the Northwest Florida area from 14,000 B.C. through the 1950′s. We serve students, citizens and visitors through exhibits, educational programs, publications and special events. The Indian Temple Mound Museum is part of the Heritage Park and Cultural Center which also includes the Camp Walton Schoolhouse Museum, Garnier Post Office Museum, Fort Walton Temple Mound, and the Civil War Exhibit Building. One admission price covers all four museums!
The museum and grounds were happily open, and all staff were knowledgeable and cheerful. There were plenty of exhibits to interest all ages and a few interactive exhibits that were very cool. We enjoyed all of the buildings and would visit again. There is also a gift shop.

My 1st and 4th grader and I loved it! We needed a break from the beach and pools at our resort. The Museum is very well done and includes several interesting, interactive exhibits. Check the hours before going. School house and civil war exhibits closed on Wed and Thur. You can easily peer inside the school house and get a pic with your smart phone. It is all located downtown with a playground one street over, theater, gift shops and restaurants.

First tim visitor and glad we did!! What a fun environment with a great mix of traditional pub fare and German dishes tossed in!! The food was excellent and we tried a variety of menu options from pizza and wings to pork shanks and sauerkraut. Every thing was fantastic. They even gave us a sample of their upcoming over 21 desserts. I highly recommend trying them out!!
