We (my wife and I) have been here many times. This concert was the best. I purchased two VIP tickets. Dinner and parking was included. The dinner was selected personally by the artist. It included salad, the main course, dessert and wine. The wine was a red sangiovese and a white Pinot Grigio from the Bocelli Vineyard. The winery is run by the artist and his brother and has been in his family for over 150 years. The main course was Veal Oscar and it was delicious. I was very pleasantly surprised. Dessert was a parfait and it was decadent. There were Belgian chocolates at each place setting to take with you when you left to go to your seats. The concert itself was fabulous with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and a University of Georgia Chorus backing up the Artist. The sound system for this event was notably improved. The clarity of the sound on the floor level was outstanding.

Love this theatre! We have attended many events and told all of our friends about it as well. It's small but there's not a bad seat in the house and the artists who play there cover a wide variety of genres. A true gem tucked into the heart of downtown Duluth.

JeJu Sauna

Reviewed By Tequilaandthemuffins

I had been wanting to go to Jeju for some time now, and finally treated myself for my 48th birthday-- it was AWESOME! Like a lot of other folks, I was nervous about the "naked" part, but I didn't feel the least bit uncomfortable. Fortunately, I had some friends who had already been here and loved it, so they were able to give me some tips to make sure I had a good experience. Most of the staff does not seem to speak or understand English. So I can see how the inability to communicate would cause a bad experience. Even with all of the tips from my friends, there were a few moments when I was unsure. Here are a few tips to help first timers: 1) If possible, go during the week when there are fewer people 2) plan ahead- see more detail below on what to expect and what items to bring (or not bring) 3) allow enough time to fully enjoy the experience. Seeing this is a spa and you are going to get a little sweaty in the hot saunas and wet in the showers, you do NOT need to wear makeup. Unless you are coming straight from work, you will look like a dork. But, you can wash off when you arrive and you can certainly bring whatever you need to glam up afterwards if you have plans. So, going back to item number 2, what should you bring and what can you expect? You should bring a refillable water bottle, towel, toiletries, music/earbuds or a book, and maybe a little pillow. If you want to swim in the pool, then you will also need to bring your bathing suit. You don't need cash since everything is billed at checkout, but if you prefer to leave your tips in cash, then you will need that. I'll explain the need for each of these items in detail as I go through what to expect. What to expect? As soon as you arrive and come to the front desk, they are going to rapid-fire instructions to you and you will likely miss a lot of it, get a poor first impression and feel overwhelmed. No worries- this is why you are reading this review.I promise, you will be prepared and ready if you pay attention! At check-in, you will pay your $30 entry fee, give them your driver's license to hold, receive your uniform (yes, Orange is the new Black!), and get your bracelet with locker key. The uniform is tshirt and shorts, which is what every patron wears in the co-ed common areas. Your key has a number that corresponds to your locker and you will wear that bracelet throughout the day- the number is used to track any add-on services you receive so that it is added to your bill upon checkout. Upon entering the locker room you will see small shoe lockers- keep walking, but please do remove your shoes here and carry them with you into the dressing room. Upon entering the dressing room (men's and women's are separated, so I am only reviewing women's), be prepared for nudity. You will see an area of sinks/mirrors along one wall and lots of numbered lockers- big enough to hold gym bag and anything you might possibly bring, even a heavy coat in the winter. Find your locker, and change into your uniform. (if you are shy like my friend was, the toilets are in a separate area off the locker room and each stall is large with a heavy wooden door- that is where she decided to change). From the locker room, you can either start your day in the "wet" area or the common area. The "wet" area is where you MUST be nude- this includes the jacuzzis, infra red area, hip bath, and body scrubs. More on these services later... If you start in the common area, that is where it is co-ed and everyone wears their little orange short sets. This is a big open room that has all of the 7 sauna rooms/huts, the food court, the foot reflexology massage room, acupunture and regular massage room, and upstairs is the nail salon, waxing services, exercise room and smoking area. As I said, I was nervous about getting nude, so I opted to get my bearings in the co-ed area and work up my nerve as I got comfortable. We started with the Reflexology Foot Massage-- cue the angels and hallelujah chorus-- best $60 I have spent in years! It is a full hour of pampering your feet (and calves) which has the benefit of relaxing your entire body. I didn't want to leave, but alas my time was up. This is where I got my first surprise. After each add-on service, they had you a tip envelope. If you have cash, you can put it in the envelope and pay them on the spot. If not, then you carry it with you (put in your locker) until check out then have tips added onto your bill. After the glorious foot massage, we decided to check out each of the sauna rooms/huts. Note- the foot court is literally in the same open room as all of the sauna huts. Not that this is necessarily a problem, but I did not expect that and I am very sensitive to smells. So I thought it was a little weird to be smelling food in a spa environment. We started at the first one, the jewel sauna, and worked our way down the line. I liked the jewel sauna. Very warm and peaceful setting. The floors are covered with mats so you don't burn yourself on the floors (I had to see how hot the floor was so I picked up the mat and put my hand underneath- ouch!) I think the next one was the salt room, and this one is HOT! I loved it though, and after the foot massage, I could have totally napped in here for a while. But, we had a time constraint, and I wanted to get in all the saunas and some wet work, so I only spent about 10 minutes in each sauna. Speaking of napping, this is where you may want a towel (to use as a cover- not that you need it for warmth, but if you need something over you to sleep), a pillow (unless you decide to use your towel for that), refillable water bottle (they have little water stations with dixie cups but I prefer to lug my own bottle around- I drink A LOT of water), and music or book. If you bring music, you need earbuds. people do talk, but it was very quiet and respectful so I was happy that quiet spa protocol was being followed. We were only in the red clay room briefly- I thought it smelled weird. Now, there were 2 people in there, so it is possible it was them and not the sauna itself. But, it was unpleasant enough that I left. Next was the charcoal room. It was okay. Nothing objectionable but I didn't like it nearly as well as the salt or jewel rooms. The silver/gold room was weird to me. It did not give off a relaxing vibe- I didn't last long in that one either. The jade room is much more temperate than the other rooms, so if you are hot natured you will probably like this one. And if you get too hot and need to cool off, there is the Ice room. this is the only one that I thought was a little hokey. The walls are lined with white rocks to simulate the look of an igloo. And there are A/C units pumping cold air into the room. So, it is very effective at cooling you down and the teak benches are nice & comfy, but there is no actual ice. After trying out all the saunas, I decided it was time to check out the "wet" room! (My friend smokes, so she went upstairs for a smoke break and a book) So, all wet work services are off the other side of the locker room- First, go back into the locker room and get undressed. There is an attendant in there, so if you have questions you can ask her, but she may not communicate well. The hip bath is in a little room adjacent to the locker room. I opted to skip this only because of mixed reviews. Some love it, some think it is just hype- I happen to think the sign for it was hilarious. It actually says that is cures itchy anus-- hand to God! Just because I'm curious about the experience, I will likely try it next visit when I have more time. There are towels at the door heading into the "wet" area, so grab one- they are only the size of a hand towel- so it will only wipe off your face and wrap your hair. You will still be fully nude, but I swear the atmosphere is very comfortable. The patrons and attendants were all totally non-chalant, so if you go with the flow, you will be just fine. If you want the body scrub/body shampoo, walk into the big room. There is a little white board where you write your name and locker number- it is a first come basis, so they will call your number when it's your turn. First, head to the showers. They require you to shower first. This is where you might want to bring your toiletries. There is no space - other than the floor- to place them, so you will need a bag or caddy. The spa provides big dispensers of shampoo and conditioner as well as bar soap. But, it you're not into sharing or prefer your own, then bring your own. After showering, they want you to go into the jacuzzi to soften up your skin. There are 3 to choose from: hot, warm, and cold. You can move freely between them as needed. I brought my tiny towel in with me to use as a little roll up pillow for my head to lean back. In this room there is also an infrared area- I don't know what that is supposed to do, but I sat there for a little while just to experience it. Once my number was called for the Body Scrub, this is where the real MAGIC happened! The room is open to the jacuzzi area with a little partition- there are about 8 tables/spa stations. I gave my attendant my glasses and key and she placed them at her work station. She directed me to lay face down on the table (it is padded like a doctors office and very comfortable). She started off by pouring large bowls of very warm water over me to get me wet, watm, and comfy. Then she puts on these big loofah mitts and gets to work! It felt like she started with a very coarse scrub and she did a THOROUGH job, covering every square inch with multiple passes- even my hands! Then she had me flip over and got to work on the front (a towel is placed over your face so you at least don't have to be looking at each other!). For this side, it felt like she used a finer scrub that was more gentle. But, she was just as thorough on the front- no area was spared! She even worked the armpits pretty good, but even in the tenderest of areas, I never felt like it was too rough. Then she had me lay on each side to work those areas. Lastly, she did my face- which was surprisingly GREAT- and then my hair. I wasn't expecting my face or hair to be done, but it felt amazing to have been scrubbed literally head to toe. I felt REBORN! After the scrub, you go back into the shower. At this point, I would have loved a nap in the Salt Sauna. After the reflexology and body scrub I felt so relaxed and amazing, I know I could have drifted off for a few hours. But, I was also starving. So, the stomach won. I met up with my friend and we headed to the food area. I had grilled chicken and veggies over black rice and she had the spicy ramen noodle soup. Both were really good and inexpensive. There is a lot to choose from, including smoothies. After lunch, our time was up. So we headed back to the locker room and changed back into our clothes. Like I said, our 4 hour visit was AMAZING but also a little hurried. If you are going to have add-on services, I would allow at least 6 hours so you can have some down time for introspection and relaxation before hitting the traffic! You can be sure that this will be my new annual birthday tradition and I hope to spend several more occasions in my birthday suit!
