The mission of the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History is to inspire appreciation, understanding and stewardship of our natural environment through discovery and learning. The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History integrates the three strands of its organizational identity - as museum of natural history, nature education center, and steward of conservation land. As a small museum of natural history, we will preserve, exhibit, and interpret our own collections of natural history artifacts and display relevant traveling and loan exhibits. We may also collaborate with local and regional organizations on co-sponsored exhibits. As a nature education center, we will engage children and adults in high-quality programs, classes, lectures, panel discussions, workshops, films, walks, field trips, traditions and interactive exhibits that reveal the many facets of the natural world and the reciprocal impacts that humans and nature exert on each other. As befits a nature education center, we will explore our potential as a center for citizen scientists and amateur naturalists, and as a forum for informed discussion of important issues related to the natural world, especially on Cape Cod. As a steward of 400-plus acres of museum-owned land in Stony Brook Valley and Brewster conservation land adjacent to the museum, including Wing's Island, the salt marsh, and the beach along Cape Cod Bay between Quivett and Paine's Creeks, we will monitor and protect the land and focus our programming on its varied habitats - our outdoor classroom and teaching tool. Programs may also take place elsewhere on Cape Cod and in New England when appropriate.
This is a wonderful small museum with a great feel for the Cape and its sea denizens. Excellent for children of all ages and thoughtful displays which are readily accessible and understandable. A serious and friendly staff which reflects a real commitment to marine education and environmental responsibility.

Stopped here to check out their unique items. Ended up going back on our last day for additional pieces. Loved it so much, ordered Christmas gifts which were packaged securely and shipped super fast. I suspect I’ll order again soon.

A gen of a store with fun knick-knacks, antiques, and foods/toiletries. There's a quaint old-time feel to the Brewster store, and friendly staff. It didn't feel like a gimmicky tourist-stop, but a business that is cared for and loved by its staff.

Cape Cod's favorite regional theater! Producing everything from new work and classic musicals to outdoor children's shows. Come Find us. Artists who wanted to develop a company dedicated to creativity and professionalism founded Cape Rep Theatre in 1986 and have worked hard to choose plays and musicals that continually challenge the artists who work here. We have two theatres on 7 acres of land in Nickerson State Park in Brewster: a 135-seat Indoor Theater and Cape Cod's only Outdoor Theatre, a 200-seat beauty. We produce a 5-play Indoor Theater season from May through December. During the summer, we use the Outdoor Theater for daytime children's shows and in the evening, we produce more mature fare "under the stars." We make a deliberate choice to bring in artists from outside our community to keep our vision broad, our company connected to the wider world and our productions as professional and creative as possible. We want to work with the best theater we can find. Often our choices are works that may not ordinarily be produced because we try not to let size of cast, degree of difficulty (or relative obscurity!) step in the way of choosing a show. And, most important, we have and will continue to produce new work. To all playwrights out there: we love producing new work!
We've seen two shows at Cape Rep theater over the past two years and will be back for a third this summer. Depending on the show, you really can find something for everyone. We have attended with our parents, bought gift certificates for an aunt/uncle, and brought our pre-teen children to shows, too. They also have shows for younger children, though we haven't seen any. The theater is small with only a handful of seats, and all seats are great ones. The actors are superb and it is amazing to see what they can do, transforming the stage very creatively (we saw Peter and the Starcatcher and the way they portrayed boats and the island was very creative with limited space and materials). We recommend catching a show and heading to one of the great local restaurants in the area before and after.

Cape Cod's family-owned gourmet cookware and tabletop shop, serving our customers since 1978! Located at Lemon Tree Village on Route 6A in Brewster, we stock a wide of variety of local and international gourmet products, brand name kitchenware, cutlery, cookware, bakeware, gadgets, small appliances, kitchen linens, spices, oils & vinegars, teas & coffees, cookies & candies and more!
We love stopping at the cook shop before leaving the cape, it's the perfect stop on your sunday drive toward the bridge. We always find something new and interesting, whether that's a nice sauce, seasonal baking ingredients, kitchen gadgets, etc. We left this weekend with new ice trays, a fish spatula, baking mix, sauce, spices, cookie scoop, and jam - just to give you an idea of how much they have to check out! Highly recommend stopping in to the cook shop.
