With one of the cleanest lakes in Europe, this is worth a relaxing stop for 2-3 days to amble along the lakeshore, take a boat excursion on the glacial-fed turquoise lake, hike or cycle, try some delicious raclette and make sure to wander beside the canals of the old town at night with glowing lanterns. Wonderful.

take the local bus for 5 euros and you get to the village Lans En Vercors . and here you can walk for hours- Also there is a restaurant after around 1 hours walk- Here we did lunch! Ask the tourist info in the village

The stunning natural beauty of the Calanques along the South Coast of France is a must do. We went on a boat tour which departed from Marseille (booked through Airbnb experience) which was amazing, but there are so many ways to visit this national park.

In 2011, the museum is running a renovation of the top floor (impressionist gallery). Only ground and medium floor are accessible. The top floor will re-open on the 20th of October. Meanwhile, some impressionist masterpieces are not visible.

Excellent museum, incredible use of old train station space, loads and loads of lovely and important French art, easy to walk, large open spaces, good cafes, perfect light. We walked right in in June, no waiting, arrived at opening. Highly recommend.

From your first glimpse of the magnificent structure from blocks away to the breath-taking view when you enter the square surrounding this gigantic almost-eerie Gothic monument, it is truly overwhelming and awe-inspiring. My opinion is that it surpasses it's namesake - Notre Dame in Paris. Inside, the huge rose window, the pipe organ, the astrological clock all are simply amazing - especially when you consider they are all 5 or 6 centuries old.

La Croisette is always an awesome place for summer holidays. Its sandy beaches, the great food restaurants and the luxury shops offer all the ingredients of a perfect stay, althought a bit too expensive.
