Known as the "Island of Colors" thanks to its jewel-colored waters and building painted in vivid primary tones, the horseshoe-shaped island of Milos floats serenely in the Aegean Sea. It was here that the world-famous Venus de Milo statue was discovered. Though she now holds court at the Louvre, Milos has other beauties to admire. There are dozens of beaches, all different colors and all different combinations of sand, stone and shell. Explore the ancient theater, catacombs and windmills in Tripiti village, then cap off your day with a cinematic sunset.

Definitely the place to be when you are in Milos. I would recommend going early in the morning if you want it to be quiet. The place is popular so it will have tourists that are taking photos, especially after 10:30 AM. Take a camera with you as you'll find many spots where you can take amazing pictures. Close to the beach you can find a food truck with beverages in case you forget to take water with you.

This was one of the best beaches in milos . It's very difficult and pretty dangerous to climb down the mini cliff where there is a rope and a ladder. You better visit fyriplaka Beach and rent a cayak (only 10 euros). This way you can also visit the beaches before tsigrado. Also worth visiting for its caves where you can take beautiful photos.

The island of Milos is famous for its mining and for its beaches. A place to best experience both at the same time is the wonderful little beach at Paliorema (familiar Greek for: bad creek). There used to be a sulphur mine, whcih got started end of the 19th century and petered out in the 1960's. To get here is easiest by sea. From the landside one has to drive on dirt roads through an area with stiil active mines and fast driving lorries. Taxi drivers on Milos will usually not come to this part. The last stretch is steep, with many bends and narrow, so only recommended for a 4x4, and even then one wouldn't want to encounter a vehicle coming from the opposite direction. When coming here with friends we usually left the vehicles on top and walked down and up again. Water and food has to be brought along, if one wants to spend some time there. When exploring the area, some caution is still recommended, as it would be in any old mining area with rusting items, old holes, falling apart walls and so on.

This is a MUST go to beach on Milos...it is visually stunning and very easy to get in and out of...There is a small walk from your car and easy access into this beautiful water that is surrounded by cliffs. It is a great beach for floating...extremely calm and warm...it is a very small beach so don't expect anything organized..you literally throw your towel on a rock and go in but it is a fabulous experience that you shouldn't miss
