I had an amazing afternoon. Patrick, our host, was an entertaining and thoughtful host who was incredibly passionate about the birds and a font of knowledge about them. To get close to these birds was an absolute honour and one I won't forget in a hurry. Thank you to all involved.

The Falconry School is a small and intimate establishment dedicated to giving the client the opportunity to learn about falconry and to experience of handling and flying exciting birds of prey. These raptors can include owls, hawks, falcons and eagles.Although The Falconry School is not open to casual visitors, days and half days can be booked easily and often at short notice if necessary.
Brilliant afternoon getting to know a lot more about birds of prey and falconry. Patrick was excellent, friendly, informative and knowledgeable. I can thoroughly recommend them.

A real life themed adventure in the heart of Gloucester where players work together to escape a locked room in 60 minutes. Use your mind not your muscles in this challenging yet fun game with your family and friends.
Our first escape room in many months, and we were proud to be the first customers to walk through the door on their first day of opening since lockdown. A friendly welcome greeted us with excellent consideration to Covid precautions throughout. We tackled 'The Butcher' room and despite being an experienced group with 15 or so other escape rooms under our belts we still found this room fairly challenging, only escaping with seconds to spare! Thrilling to see the last few minutes ticking away on the countdown timer and such a buzz escaping in the nick of time! Plenty of thinking needed to solve puzzles plus physical clues to find. Great fun though and the theming was excellent. We booked an early slot on a weekday so it was good value too. Recommended to all and we would certainly visit again for the other rooms if we're holidaying in the area again.

Popped in out of interest on the Saturday. Friendly staff gave us a tour. So impressed returned for sessions the following day. Kids (6 and 8) had first real experience climbing. They did the Mice session and had a fantastic time. The young lad taking the session was great. The kids really warmed to him and threw themselves into it. I had a play bouldering which was really fun and challenging. Really helpful, friendly staff. Good feel about the place. Well run and fun. Highly recommended.

The second longest bore in the world - we went late at night (well, it was dark) and waited and watched from the Severn bore pub, who patiently coped with everyone else doing the same thing. Everyone was excited, and chatting - very friendly atmosphere, and the pub thoughtfully had lights shining on the river. Three brave souls, two on kayak and one on a surfboard were on the water. It was hard to see the bore, but we certainly heard it, and the rise in water after it had passed. An excellent experience. We went back the next morning, and went to Newnham, where the river is wider, but obviously in daylight could watch the bore and the surfers - amazing experience.

Gloucester Prison in a 4 acre site which opened in 1791 and closed in 2013. Over the years 123 people were executed there. Today it remains as a tourist and event location for guided tours, Airsoft events, ghost hunts, music events and even weddings.
Excellent tour at 2:30pm today (14/3/20) ???????? a 5⭐️ event. Sir Simon is a spot on guide with excellent historical knowledge and a good sense of humour too. A prison steeped in shocking events from the 1700’s to 2013 when it closed and to the present day with the supernatural presence. I am definitely up for a ghost night now ???? Thank you guys, a well organised and timed tour. 10/10.

A go karting track and laser tag venue
I was looking for an activity for me and my daughter while holidaying in the Cotswolds and stumbled across JDR karting while Googling. We headed off for a 2 x 15 minute race, and a 15 minute Segway experience both at a reasonable price. They appear to be on a industrial unit with loss of parking out the back, it’s all clearly signed. Hygiene was great, they had hand sanitiser in reception and various points throughout. We had to buy a hygiene pack which consisted of quality gloves and balaclava (for the helmet) and 1 week later we are still Covid free so their practices must work! After watching a briefing DVD we got kitted up and hit the track. We then had two fantastic 15 minute races with my daughter absolutely annihilate me by lapping me 4 times each race (I must have had a slower kart)! Having never been on a indoor track all I can say it was fantastic with tight and fast corners and named sides. We then went on a Segways on a mini kids karting track where the staff member placed cones and obstacle for us to ride around. I would highly recommend JDR Karting to anyone and will defiantly return if I’m back in that neck of the woods again’

Children (6 and 8) had first ever ski lesson with Ian last week. They were really nervous to begin with and didn't even want to go in but Ian was brilliant and gave them so much confidence. I've rarely seen them grin so much. They are desperate to go again. He balanced their knowledge and progression with fun, games and interest. Couldn't ask for more. OK - it's not a sparkling slope but we had a great time. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. There were some fabulous skiers on the slope at the time from of a ski team which inspired my two no end. We'll definitely go back. They'll still teach when it's raining so it's all about the kit.
