Outer Banks Jetovator is exited to offer the first Jetovator and Hoverboard experience in the Outer Banks. The Jetovator is the latest addition to the "jet pack flyboard" craze! The Jetovator is a water propelled flying jet bike powered by jet-ski propulsion. It allows the rider to fly up to 20 feet above the water! The jetovator is a fun easy and thrilling activity for all to enjoy! The Hoverboard is our newest addition, it is a flying surfboard powered by jet-ski propulsion. Call to book. All flights are by reservation only. We may be able to get you on the water short notice but call first we do not always have someone at the docks to book your flight.

Kite Hatteras is the only company that offers "The Tower”, which provides instruction even in no wind conditions! Focusing entirely on board skills, "The Tower" pulls you out of the water at a 45 degree angle just as the kite will - allowing you to become comfortable with edging and proper foot pressure which are necessities for kiteboarding success. ABOUT TY Ty has been involved in the USA kitesurfing industry since its inception. Long before most of us had ever heard of kitesurfing, he mastered this new and exciting sport in April of 1998. He also has over twenty years of windsurfing experience. Ty was one of the first kiteboarding instructors in the country. While sponsored by "F-One Kites", he began "Grab High", a kiteboarding school based in Hatteras. For years, he taught lessons all over the USA. Ty was the head instructor at Kiteboarding Hatteras, a flight instructor with a commercial pilot's license and is a sponsored rider for Cabrinha. Ty has been featured in videos like "Air Sickness", "Pure North", "Pistol River Wave Bash", and "Kooks of Hazard." He continues to be one of most well respected local kitesurfers and continues to push himself to the next level. He offers top quality lessons with the highest level of professionalism and safety.

We are a family run seafood market that is the longest running seafood market in Avon N.C., we offer many types of fresh local fish and also do clambakes which is our famous meal in a can that takes 20 mins on the stove to prepare. We also offer take out, we steam shrimp, blue crabs, clams, crab legs and musscles to go. The original Hatteras Island Surf Shop opened in Waves, NC in 1971. Barton Decker and a few friends started the shop as a summertime job, an excuse to stay at the beach for the summer and get surfboards cheap. But the shop and Hatteras grew on him more then he expected and he continued and expanded Hatteras Island Surf and Sail into two locations. The Surf Shop is still tucked behind the trees similar to how it was in 1980s when it was built. The Surf Shop packs surfboards, bodyboards, skimboards and other surf equipment. The Sail Shop is right on the water and is packed with kiteboarding, windsurfing, and paddleboard gear. The Sail Shop provides windsurfing and kiteboarding lessons right out behind the shop. Kayaking, windsurfing and paddlboarding rentals can be launched right from behind the shop.
