Delightful focused collection of WW11 artifacts in large barn. C-47 Dakota fuselage and remains of many substantial and rare aircraft recovered from all over Europe. Clever yet grim photographs of the Dora underground rocket factory. Plenty of sound effects and memorabilia. Open 6 days a week Tuesdays to Sundays, closed Mondays, open Bank Holiday Mondays.
Had a great time here, so much to see from WW2. Lots of local things that happened during the war. The Dakota from tv series Band of Brothers was incredible, which you can go inside and can sit inside cockpit of Chipmunk. Highly recommend.

The Rally has more than 1200 exhibits in attendance ranging from steam traction engines to vintage vehicles. Also large fun fair with traditional rides and side stands. Around the field there are fascinating displays of buses, tractors, cars, lorries, military vehicles, bicycles and motorcycles. Our Working Area is the place to see a steam powered demonstrations including woodcutting at the saw benches and stationary engines.
Fantastic day out: great organisation of event; lots of room to explore (though very busy never felt overcrowded); exhibits were great (lots and lots to look at); really family friendly (we had a 2, 3, 6 and 11 year olds with us); great value for money. Highlights for us were the steam organs, demonstration from Sussex Logs, and the buses. We’ll definitely return next year.

Come and discover rescued rural buildings set in a beautiful landscape, which tell the stories of the people who lived and worked in them over 1,000 years. Explore our 40-acre site and visit our collection – we have more than 50 historic buildings, from a replica Anglo-Saxon hall house to an Edwardian tin church. Enjoy a regular programme of demonstrations, including milling in our 17th century watermill; cooking in our Tudor kitchen; blacksmithing in our Victorian smithy, baking in our newly opened bakehouse; plus seasonal demonstrations. Take a walk in the woods, bring the dog (we are dog friendly), visit our waterside cafe or enjoy your own picnic. New exhibit buildings include: a dairy and bakehouse, near the watermill, plus a late 18th century barn and early 19th century stable known as May Day Farm. Need a new hobby or a new skill? Try our day courses in traditional rural trades and crafts or historic building conservation.
A superb visit the best museum we have ever been too ...so much history to see and enjoy ...lovely cafe and a little shepherd's hut takeaway for refreshments...The Repair Shop looked so fabulous we managed to spot one of the presenters of the TV series...would love to return again

Took my daughter here at half term and she had a great time making a pottery lamp, making bread trying Roman food. The people working here are engaging and knowledgable and really help bring it to life.

So much memorabilia in such a small museum, itself housed in an old pub. Brilliant resource centre and refreshments available. Will visit again when it reopens in spring.

My friend and I had a extremely interesting couple of hours at the Priest House. The volunteer was very helpful in answering all our questions. Its is definitely worth a visit. So much local history. I feel I need to return at some stage. Too much to take in on one visit.
