Museum El Ceibo on Ometepe Island is a must see in Nicaragua with one of the biggest and best conserved collection in the country. The museum has two exhibition halls, one with pre-Columbian statues and artifacts and one which shows the history of the Nicaraguan coin. When visiting Ometepe, El Ceibo is the place to get to know and experience the Ometepe culture. El Ceibo is not just a museum, it is fun for all ages!
Ometepe is rural and fairly small destination and it was interesting to find the museum, it was nice to see artifacts found on the property, nice visit and very educational

ChocoMuseo is the new Cacao and Chocolate Museum in Granada Nicaragua. It offers a great overview of the history, the nature and the manufacturing of the cacao and the chocolate. There is a chocolate factory located inside the museum and Cacao farm tours are offered..
Such good fun, amazing tasty chocolate and very informative. Our instructor for our chocolate making class Kenny was brilliant fun, he got us all really well engaged with the class. Lots of information and we had a “fun test” at the end to make sure we had listened!! The chocolate bars we made were so tasty... I chose sea salt and marshmallow flavour... amazing!!

Mi Museo, Granada Collection, is a private collection of Nicaraguan Pre-Columbian ceramics. The collection contains more than 15.000 pieces which originate from the period between 2000 BC to 1550 AD. Mi Museo is located in the historical center of the oldest colonial city on the continent, Granada, in a building dating back to 1868. The building was restored with attention to its original design and preserving as many of the original features as possible.

Great place, great chocolate made by three ladies. Step aside Hershey. This is REAL chocolate. Our tour was great and the chocolate and coffee at the end is the best.

If you are of the people who loves to know about poetry and its history, then this is a place you cannot miss when in León. The museum offers the possibility to see yourself about the life and death of famous nicaraguan write Rubén Darío.
