Amazon House offers affordable, clean and cozy accommodation, only 8-minute drive from the main square (2-3 soles). It is located in a quieter street off of the main roads and the intense noisy sound of motorbikes and tuk-tuks. You can rest assured that your stay with us will be really calm, nice and an exceptional comfort. What can you get at Amazon House? - WiFi in all rooms (the fastest you can get in Iquitos) - Private rooms (bath included) with air conditioning or fan - TV with cable channels and comfortable mattresses - Fully equipped shared kitchen - Common area with hammocks and rocking chairs to chill-out - Friendly staff and warm family attention - English and Spanish language spoken - Breakfast for a fee - Airport shuttle (surcharge) - Book exchange and bicycle hire - Luggage storage - Laundry place for self-washing and paid laundry service - Excursions to the Amazonian jungle and ayahuasca retreats.
I spend 3 nights there in a private room. Owners and all staff were very frienly and helpful. Its a clean, safe and quite place, also has a nice and terrace to chill. Breakfast was very satifying including egg, breads, jam, butter, many different fruits, juice, good coffee and tea. WiFi was working well. Thank you for made my first days in Peru much easier! Highly recomended :)

Located on the Momon River, approximately half an hour from the Plaza de Armas in Iquitos, Peru, Amazon Oasis Lodge offers a one of a kind experience. The entire lodge is built on floating platforms, designed to move in harmony with the Momon River as it rises and falls throughout the year. A family property, built and operated, this is not only our workplace, it is our home. It has been built entirely by our own hands, and we have put our hearts in our work, and if you decide to come to visit us, you will be treated as part of the family. Let us share with you part of the tranquility, beauty, and adventure that our jungle has to offer. Our floating bungalows are designed to give our guest the feeling of being emersed in the jungle, and connected to the river, while at the same time offering comfort and cleanliness. Each bungalow has: It’s own floating terrace with a beautiful view of the Momon River Large windows sealed with mosquito netting which allow you to enjoy the view, fresh air, and sounds of the jungle without the bother of insects Solar powered lighting that last all night, and a usb charger to keep your phone charged A large queen bed and a hammock to relax in A private bathroom with shower
I wouldn’t expect much 5 star niceties. I would expect a peaceful, humble place that’s incredible! It’s a family run business and they live there! A resident monkey who now has a companion and they’re super friendly to take out on a canoe. It’s one of those places that you’d probably skip and think nothing of it. Highly recommended for a couple of spare nights.

I have stayed several times here. It’s quiet, safe, clean, has a swimming pool and the rooms have air conditioning. The hosts are very friendly and they will help you out if you have any questions about the area or if you need a recommendation. Recomiendo este lugar. Es tranquilo, seguro, limpio, las habitaciones tienen aire acondicionado. El personal es muy amigable.

When you visit the Amazon you must remember you are in the Amazon, not in a luxury resort in Mexico or the States. The resort was beautiful, on the banks of the Momom river. My husband and I were with 2 other couples we each had our own "cottage" it had a comfortable Queen size bed and a private bath. We only had electric for three hours in the morning and three in the evening. There was no hot water for showers. Remember you are in the middle of the Amazon. The food was really delicious, and the portions huge, we had to tell our guide to have the chef cut our portions in half. The true gem of our stay was our guide Alberto, he took very good care of us and spoke very good English, I can't say enough good things about him. He was wonderful. He and Charlie took us on a walk though the jungle which was great. Charlie knew all of the plants and showed us what they were, he even dug up some roots that the chef cooked for our lunch. The pools were beautiful, complete with a swim up bar. Although Alberto was the only one at the resort who spoke English the entire staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

Study and observe Amazon wildlife in the biodiverse rainforests of Peru on a tributary of the Amazon River and participate in research on dolphins, primates, macaws, wading birds, fish, bats, caimans, otters, and work with local communities involved with community reserves, Indigenous territories and sustainable use. Students and visitors stay in a floating research station ‘Rio Amazonas’ which is a restored steamship from the rubber-boom era. Cabins are en-suit accommodation, with dining room, lecture room, library, aquatic laboratory, and open deck areas.
There are a number of $1,000/night Amazon Riverboat experiences but NONE of them will allow you to experience this unique ecosystem the way staying at the Amazon Boat Hotel will! First, you will stay on board the Amazon's oldest navigating ship, having been built in Paris, France in 1876. Second, you will be staying on one of the vessels in Iquito's Museum of Historic Ships. Third, you will be supporting work which is now stretching into its 4th decade of preserving the Amazonian headwaters and the self-determination of indigenous peoples in this region. Instead of perhaps glimpsing a pink river dolphin from an air-conditioned stateroom on board one of the high-end tourist boats that ply the Amazon, you will accompany a biologist on an open air vessel and, if you are lucky (like we were), observe those dolphins from a distance of just a few meters. Or you can set out on an early morning trip with a local guide and biologist to look for macaws, parrots and parakeets. What I want you to understand is that this is the REAL Amazon, not the Disney-fied version where your guide is local and a biologist doing long-term research on climate change in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve will help you understand what you see!

The rooms are fairly big and hanging out at the pool helps a lot on hot days. And he's a great breakfast chef too!! Thanks a lot Wilson it was a pleasure meeting you!

Una opción maravillosa para una ciudad que no ofrece mucho. Estuve muy feliz y me gusta mucho la tranquilidad. La piscina muy refrescante y limpia. Recomendado. Llamen antes para reservar. No es un hotel comercial.

Apayacu River Lodge is a small, isolated, intimate, unique and exclusive Amazonian lodge with four privates, rustic bungalow with personalized service. Apayacu River Lodge is located on the Apayacu river within the Ampiyacu Apayacu Regional Conservation Area, in the provinces of Maynas and Ramón Castilla, in the Loreto region. 147 kilometers (91 miles) Northeast from the city of Iquitos.
First, I want to thank the staff involved with the Apayacu River Lodge including Donaldo (tour guide extraordinare) for making this trip unforgettable. You want rustic, primary, beautiful, diverse ecosystem, this place will not disappoint. The lodge is fairly new and set right in the virgin and unspoiled Amazon rainforest near the protected Ampiyacu Reserve. We were lucky enough to be the only 2 visitors during this Amazon wet season when the river and tributaries provided great access to the every part of the jungle. We were treated like family. The 3 meals a day prepared by Tatiana the local chef was superb as expected for original and delicious Peruvian cuisine. From the amazing jungle city of Iquitos, the adventure began when we where met at the airport and whisked away down the mighty Amazon for a 4 hr scenic boat ride to the lodge. A lost world experience begins with a package of your choosing. Exploring, night jungle hikes, observing, and canoe rides with local community members who do a wonderful job at teaching through global awareness and protection of the beautiful country and culture the Peruvian Amazon has to offer. Camping in "uncharted" and unspoiled rainforest brings all your senses together as you encounter infinite flora and fauna in their natural habitat. Fishing, and visiting the friendly people of the Sabalillo tribe along the river were delightful and very educational. The lodge itself is forest made and fits perfectly in it's virgin rainforest setting surrounded by nature and sounds that truly bring it alive and will not taint the true rustic and adventurous spirit this green paradise has to offer.

The young lady managing the place is probably the nicest host in the country. She gave us advice about food, transportation, things to do in Iquitos etc.. and even proposed to take us on a motorcycle ride. The hostel is located near the bellen neighborhood so a bit out of the touristy zone but we liked it. The room didn't have a window but very clean and has a ventilator. There is a common area where you can prepare coffee or tea. It's a very good option for a budget accommodation in Iquitos.
