The room was small but there was plenty of storage should you be staying more than a night or two. The room and en-suite were emaculate and the view from the room is stunning. The shower was hot and powerful and the bed comfortable, we could have slept on! Breakfast eat all you like buffet off croissant, pain au chocolate, doughnuts and bread/toast with orange juice and coffee, simple but good. Nothing to complain about!

I spent a night at Pension Miguel while walking the Camino de Santiago. The location is perfect, close to the restaurants, bars, the cathedral, and every other of Santo Domingo's points of interest. If you like peace and quiet, Pension Miguel is perfect for you. I got a good night's sleep and was ready to go in the morning. I was by myself, but was put in a triple room. There was plenty of space for me and my stuff. The owner, Maite, is very kind and showed me everything I needed to know on a map of the city when I checked in. A very good option, both in terms of price and location, if you are walking the Camino de Santiago.

Where to start. I'm afraid I had to stay here for 2 nights due to everywhere being booked up. I waited outside the Hostal for 30 minutes as nobody was available to open the main door which is located on the first floor of a block. 'Hostal Complete' was written on a bit of paper on the main entrance door (although I had booked & paid). There are 2 phone numbers you can call but nobody answers any of them. I then rang 'Booking.com' who I had booked with (they took 20 minutes to answer). Booking.com then managed to contact someone from the Hostal who eventually turned up with a screaming baby in a pram. I even took the pram upstairs for the reception woman. A quick 30 second welcome chat, then shown the room & then she said cheerio. To be fair, the room was clean but you get a double bed with an en-suite bathroom that you have to be careful as you turn as it is so compact. The TV had about 6 channels of rubbish to choose from. I paid £100+ for 2 nights which for the same money would have got me a comfortable hotel room (had they not been booked up). This place is not good

On our return trip to Portugal, we had an overnight stay at the “Hotel Vale de Oja” which is in Haro Spain. This is a B&B, where we were very kindly received by the owner in person, we got a room on the ground floor. The room was sober, but very neat, a private bathroom with a nice view from both the bathroom and the room itself. Everything else in order, we had a very quiet night in a good bed, followed by a nice breakfast, better than we are used to according to Spanish standards. For us this was a point landing, we really enjoyed the peace and quietness, a private parking, what more could you want for an overnight stay! In any case, if we are still passing through, this hotel is first on our list to become our stay without more.
