Welcome to Vík Apartments, which opened in June 2018. We offer fully furnished apartments for short-term rent in the heart of Vík. The apartments are bright and modern and have a fantastic view, with spacious south terrace facing offering magnificent views over the black sand beach and the Reynisdrangar pillars. The hotel’s environment is magnificent, surrounded by mountains, glaciers and the sea. All of the South Coast‘s natural pearls are in reach, and in addition, the bird life is varied; here are among the largest Artic tern and puffin colonies in Iceland. The village Vík is also immensely beautiful, so it is ideal to take a relaxed walk around it on a mild evening after a good dinner at one of the many great restaurants in Vík.
This apartment was quite large and perfect for my family of 4. We were walking distance to restaurants, groceries, etc. The in-unit laundry was definitely a huge plus as well (bring or buy your own detergent). Check in/out was a breeze at the nearby hotel reception. Highly recommend!

ODDSSON Hotel opened in the summer of 2019 in Reykjavík, where it is perfectly situated for ease of travel in and out of the city. Our new and modern hotel features 77 hotel rooms of various sizes in order to accommodate solo travelers, as well as large groups. Some of our rooms include bunk beds, sofa beds and basic kitchenettes, ideal for families traveling with children. ODDSSON Hotel is a self-check in hotel, which means that there is no Front Desk or Concierge presence on site. Two days before your arrival, you will receive an email with your key code and check-in instructions. Continental breakfast is provided on the ground floor, and we also have a private breakfast area for large groups, seating 40-50 people
The hotel itself is on the outskirts of town and so I imagine quite a walk into town. We hired a car so it was no problem. The underground car park has lots of space and there is room outside for extra cars. Breakfast was gorgeous - continental, tea coffee (which is available free of charge all day in the bar area) juices, toast, bacon, egg, beans, pastries, fruit, waffles. The room was spacious (family room with kitchenette - microwave, hot plates, microwave) and clean and really very nice. The bar was well stocked with local wines and beers. There is quite a few take always really local with a pizza place across the road. My only gripe is that the busy road outside is really quite noisy so you have to shut windows at night if you are at the front of the building. Rooms are cleaned every other day and the staff were really nice. You get given a code to enter the building and your room as there is no reception. A modern and comfortable hotel for a family.

Perfection! Externally the property may appear quite ordinary however its anything but. Internally this is a lovely quaint guesthouse with beautiful antique furniture and great effort taken to maintain authenticity. I stayed in an upstairs twin room which was perfect, the bed was very comfortable. The fabulous Icelandic bathhouse with showers, sauna, outside hot pool is an absolute highlight. Loved it. There was one member of staff (off-season, just four guests), super helpful and friendly. Property is reached on a gravel road however condition is good and fine with my standard saloon rental. This quite peaceful and authentic stay is highly recommended, it's like staying in a musuem.

So glad we took a chance on this hotel - it is across the river from Akureyri high up on hill looking over the city and mountains, perfect for sunsets. The room was very large and clean. Not sure I agree with soundproof rooms as we could hear our neighbors come in at night and use bathroom and talk. This was in room 7 which has a balcony on top floor. Great little coffee machine with a selection of pods including hot chocolate which we enjoyed on the balcony on a chilly night. We were able to check in midday and the owner was gracious and helpful. Like others mentioned, He accomodated our early checkout with breakfast before the normal hours starting at 8. A nice basic selection of fruits, skyr, juices and breads. If you are staying in Akureyri with a car definitely check Hafdals out over staying in the city - you will not be disappointed.

Not so much a hotel as more a room to sleep in. The good points: Literally 10 minutes drive to Kevlavik airport. There is a mini, well-stocked supermarket 30 seconds away. Large clean rooms with comfy beds. The welcome at reception. Lots of plugs to charge your electronic devices. The not so good points: Rooms are all on the 2nd floor and there is no lift so lifting suitcases up the stairs wasn't easy, for me anyway. Some rooms are above the supermarket, although we didn't hear any noise at all. The 'breakfast room' is open ONLY from 4am until 11am. Our breakfast, found in the fridge in a bag with our room number, consisted of a skyr yoghurt, an apple, a fruit juice carton and a sandwich of cheese and salami (which went in the bin). You put your plates and cups in the dishwasher. Some of the furniture was a bit fragile. There is no lounge or bar, it's just your room. The hotel is next to a housing estate and you literally have to drive to get to restaurants or bars apart from a grill/ takeaway one minute away. There was nobody at reception for check out, you just leave your key in a box. Not for me I'm afraid.

Beautiful views everywhere you turn here. The location feels very remote, even though it's just off the main road. And while it is a little far from town, Ísafjörður, the main town in the region, isn't too far away and has everything you need. (Flateryi, the closest town, didn't have anything open when we drove through.) Our room was great - very spacious compared to other accommodations we've had in Iceland. Nice bathroom, too, and it seems like every room would have a nice view.

Great location. Very clean and it was also quiet. This bed and breakfast is a great value. Breakfast was nice next door. The coffee was very good also. We had a group of six with three rooms and we were all very comfortable. Would highly recommend.
