Most spacious rooms in town a stone throw distance from railway station best luxury rooms with real fire place available in dehradun. WE DO ALSO HAVE THE FIRST RETRO THEMED RESTAURANT IN WHOLE UTTRAKHAND WITH A BIKE HANGING IN RESTAURANT WHERE TRAVELLERS CAN DINE UNDER THE OLD 1950 BSA BIKE.
It is a small compact set up. We had booked two rooms via booking.com (not the first time bookings through that website turned a disappointment). The rooms we were given were really small and you have to climb a narrow iron stair case to get to. the type you would allot to your house help etc. It was dirty as well. On complaining the gave an altnerate room - this time one larger room at the same price which was spacious and on the ground floor). as it was already 10pm we took it. However once we moved it we saw the room as really dirty, human hair inside the wardrobes, dusty furniture and some broken gym equipment kept in the room which they refused to move. the linen and towels were really old and did not appear clean. when we asked for an extra bedsheet what came was pretty dirty. We asked for dinner which was decent and reasonably priced. Those manning the front desk had very poor attitude (take it or leave it types). Another family who were checking in with us, did not like their room and walked out and stayed at the hotel opposite and later said the rooms there were better.

The Sylvan Retreat, Dehradun is a riverside estate nestled among the woods away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Located on the outskirts of Dehradun and set against the backdrop of breathtaking mountain scenery, this is your perfect escape to tranquillity. We offer a varied range of options for accommodation, from Classic Wooden Cottage to Luxury Superior Rooms. Each room has a modern wooden interior, comfortable king-sized bed, attached toilet/shower, two plush armchairs and warm lighting to ensure a cosy stay. Innumerable trees, especially mango, give you company along with the birds that dwell in them. Two gentle mountain streams flow along both the sides of the estate. The place is undisturbed, a private getaway for people who want to rejuvenate in the midst of Nature. Wake up to the sounds of chirping birds. Sip your coffee by the murmuring mountain streams. Explore the adjoining forest or walk-in lush lawns. Let Nature pamper you!
The most terrible experience ever. The photographs on the net look good but when we reached and saw it in real we were so disappointed. The AC was not working in one of rooms, it was a superior room with no windows. We shifted to a higher room category and paid Rs 7000 per night. Only to discover that the flush was dripping, no hot water (they had forgotten to fix the gas cylinder outside) and the beautiful rain showers were not working. Housekeeping and maintenance sucked. The chicken sandwiches we ordered for tea were stale and smelly. We could not even check out because they had taken the entire stay amount as full advance. Will never recommend this hotel to anyone!

The Glenville Forest Resort and Spa story starts with a city known as Dehradun, the Smaller, Greener, less crowded and somewhat laid-back, easy-going; fond of gossip, but tolerant of human foibles. a city where you could walk almost anywhere, at any time of the year, night or day. The building of the Glenville Resort is new but when you come here, you will find the same old Dehradun.
Let me begin from beginning. I was looking for a resort near Dehradun for a weekend to have a relaxing time. While I liked pictures of Glenville few reviews which were negative on service put me in doubt. However, when I spoke to their GM Karan, he assured me best service and let me tell you he kept his word. They suggested that if we want 4 rooms and family time, we take two suites and two executive rooms such that entire first floor and lobby area and balcony will be ours. I have been to many five stars and let me tell, this was one of the best experience I have had and our family enjoyed so much. As far as service is concerned it was as if we were their personal guests. Rohit was too good and we could feel the warmth. For future traveller's - we need to know what we want else there could be mismatch of expectations. This is not a traditional five star hotel with hundreds of rooms and processes and running kitchen. This is a boutique luxury farmhouse/bungalow with 12 rooms like one sees in movies. The greenery, views of mountain, land scaped gardens are exquisite and out of the world. So comparing with 5 star is like comparing apples with oranges. Both are fruits but their taste is just different. I would any day prefer Glenville. Like staying in one's own farm house with personal butler. So they mentioned that since they are boutique property we need to tell them 1 hour in advance when we need meals and they has limited options - we were absolutely fine with it as food was yummy and fresh and Rohit served us with lot of warmth. Karan got the staff to fill air in our swimming pool ball to play too which was beyond their duty. We could use pool to ourselves (so a pleasant experience and safe after two years if covid). Kids enjoyed kids pool too and so did table tennis, pool table and carom and cycling which unlike some resorts were complimentary. Rooms were quote nice too with all 5 star amenities like quality of mattress, a big big TV and an effective a/c. Yes, showers of bathroom were not working (though I had asked Glenville to check before we come). This didn't bother us as everything else was so nice and we got to spend quality time, walks in their gardens, good food, pool etc. I hope Glenville keeps its hospitality and warmth while improving on best practices. Thank you Karan, Rohit and Glenville.

Due to rain fall had to book the hotel in rush. It was well connected to the important market. It was pleasurable one night stay. Washroom was in acceptable position. Lenin were clean.Balcony was well groomed which was highlight of the hotel with good sitting arrangement. Reception was clean. Staff was good. Service was good. But the food was very bad, I ordered Butter Toast, but hardly butter was applied, brad smelled bad, alloo paratha was under-cooked.

This Gothic-Saracen-inspired home property was built in the early part of the 1900s. The architects toyed with an idea that was being vastly experimented at the time and the result was breathtaking. With six stately suites, a living area and dining room, a courtyard, and gardens, it has has been lovingly restored and is now open to guests who would like to experience a bit of the Raj legacy. The p
This place is that rare combination of old settings with comfort. The 3 rooms that we stayed in were all different and unique. We could have taken any room and still be happy with it. The house itself is close to a 100 years old and has a lot of history about it. There are antiques everywhere and this place is a treasure trove for a history buff like yours truly. The service is excellent and though we didn't have a meal here other residents were extremely complimentary about the home grown vegetables and the home style cooking. Gobind and Mohammed were always around to take care of any request.

The hotel is within the walking distance from Dehradun station. Dont expect much, but not bad for a single night's stay. Food is served in the room. Owner Mr Tapeshwar Bhardwaj was a friendly man. He lives in the house adjacent to the Hotel. Other staff are also very good.
