Burnside Park luxury self catering accommodation is notable for its prime location in Bowness on Windermere, right at the heart of the English Lake District. The resort nestles in mature gardens just three hundred meters from the shore of Lake Windermere; a short stroll from the lovely village of Bowness on Windermere. For guests staying at Burnside Park self catering resort, an extensive range of amenities and leisure facilities is provided on site and within the Parklands Country Club, located within the adjacent Burnside Hotel (does not belong to Burnside Park)
The Hapimag site, facilities and Bowness area did not disappoint. In fact the Hapimag complex, from a family point of view, has improved since Covid restrictions. There are more activities in the visitors lounge and play area for children, and carers, to use and plenty of books, jigsaws and DVDs to borrow. The swimming pool at local Spa is a good addition also.

Have stayed here a few times now while visiting family in barrow, great communication from the manager for a contactless check in. Lovely clean rooms, great walk in shower, large tv in room, USB charging points, great parking and close to everything you need. Worth mentioning I last stayed on a Friday night and wasn't disturbed by the noise of a Friday night in barrow!

We decided to return to the South Lakes Zoo since we hadn’t been for nearly 10 yrs & decided if we did we would stop over as we live in newcastle and it’s a long day to drive there in morning & straight back in 1 day so I looked for accommodation close by. I came across the Abbey Apartments in Barrow-in-Furness only a ten minute drive from the zoo and being a young family we wanted to be close to bars & restaurants but have our own space not a pokey hotel room. The apartment is perfect I booked the penthouse (number 3) for the night and the location is perfect and comes with a onsite parking space which is a bonus being in a town centre. The apartment itself is very modern and I’d say very recently converted or re decorated as it’s spotless and the sofas still have their tags on them. The penthouse has 2 good double bedrooms with king size beds there’s a family bathroom with a bath and a separate shower and there’s a cosy living room/ kitchen diner wit all mod cons 60” curved tv with sky ,free internet , electric hobb a washing machine that I doubt has ever been used as that also has the big sticker on the drum door & everything you have at home plates glasses knives forks condiments iron ironing board everything although we didn’t use any of them they are there ! The beds are very comfortable for a rental. The location is brilliant we visited the ODD FROG restaurant /bar which is a 2 minute walk from the Abbey road entrance (turn left when exiting apartment block from Abbeyroad entrance) it’s a live music modern bar / restaurant that serve Tapas I strongly recommend visiting & in the morning again if you exit the apartment from the Abbey road entrance if you turn right this time & walk approx 4 minutes you’ll find Weatherspoons which we all know is a great stop off point to grab breakfast before you set off on your day there’s also a Tesco Extra about a 10 min walk from the apartment if you want to dine in and a dominos , subway ,McDonald’s all walkable. I would highly recommend the abbey apartments if you looking to stop in Barrow-in-Furness.

I made a massive mistake staying here. Noise was unbelievable... Literally feels and sounds like there's a rave taking place below. According to some of the townspeople I've spoken with this is a haven for the local druggies. I can't advise you enough to steer well clear from this dump.

Heron View is a converted barn in the beautiful village of Maulds Meaburn in Cumbria. Nestled in the Eden Valley area of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the village is quiet and peaceful. Our guest rooms have views across the green to the river. Rise in the morning to a delicious, home-cooked breakfast included in the cost of your stay.
Excellent B & B in gorgeous setting. Sam was very welcoming and we enjoyed the tea and homemade scones on arrival. Our room was very comfortable and Sam provided lots of lovely touches such as a wide choice of teas and coffee, fresh milk and a bottle of chilled water. The towels in the ensuite bathroom were luxurious as were the soaps and shower gels provided. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious.

The Cat Inn comprises three en-suite apartments, and one extra large double bedroom with separate bathroom. Rooms are available to let on a daily basis. The Cat Inn is a lovely pub in Egremont which is closest to one of the best beautiful beach St Bees and harbour Whitehaven in west Cumbria. It has three apartments with en-suite bathrooms & toilets as well as separate seating areas. One Apartment consists of a fully furnished kitchen. WiFi, central heating, coffee & tea facilities, Pub downstairs with a large selection of Drinks and live Sky Sport, Sky Movie on HD TVs with a wide range of songs, dart games and Free Parking behind the Pub, and friendly staff welcome you for your warm, comfortable and memorable stay with us.
Was on a day trip out and decided to do something other than a Wetherspoons for lunch. Lady in a local shop said the Cat was really good. Sadly service was very slow despite being quite empty. The food was OK, but overpriced for the venue/location. Shame as decent pubs seem thin on the ground these days.

Location fab, stayed for three nights, not at all welcoming, didn’t see the owner at all , even though the place was very clean , we was very disappointed with the size of the rooms, the tv was like a postage stamp, the breakfast which we was included, they tried to charge as a extra at £7-50 a head and it came in a paper bag, rubbish, for what we paid I definitely wouldn’t return

We are a Friendly Family owned Hotel managed and run by myself and my staff, located in a quiet residential area with a secure and secluded private Car Park, overlooked by a large landscaped Garden.
We booked Michaelson House for a short notice weekend break to the Lake District and it proved to be a great success. I've read a number of the other reviews for this hotel that aren't that positive and while I'll not dispute that the décor is a bit tired and it doesn't feel very modern I can only say that it ticked a lot of boxes in respect of what we required! Cost - it was not expensive particularly when you compare it to other Hotels more central to the Lake District. Location - it is a short drive to the tourist venues within the Lake District and is ideally placed for the nearby Safari Park which we were visiting. Add to that it is in a quiet residential area so no traffic noise and was very peaceful during our stay there. Family Room - the family room we had booked provided a good sized room with a double bed and two proper single beds, definitely much more practical and comfortable for the kids than the double sofa beds you often find provided in a "family room", add to that a good sized bathroom with bath and separate shower and you couldn't ask for much more. Facilities - the Wi-Fi was perfectly adequate to keep two teenagers happy! there is off street parking, the garden was lovely and the bar great for a nightcap. Food - we had opted to head out and explore the area so didn't eat main meals at the hotel however the full English Breakfast was great and set us up nicely for the day. Add in that Peter the owner was a great host and able to comment knowledgeably on local tourist attractions and recommend places to eat and we had a very good value stay here. If you are looking for an anti-septic, standardised corporate box of a hotel room then this may not be the place for you but if you want good value and something a little different then I'd certainly suggest you consider this place.

Everything you could need from a guest house. Comfortable, excellent location and a breakfast second to none. Very stylish room which was immaculate, as was en suite. When back in Arnside, we would stay again without hesitation. Arnside is a beautiful place for a couple of days, we found excellent walking trails.

Located in the heart if this popular and picturesque village is The Royal Oak, Beckermet. A traditional, family run, Village Inn, serving home cooked food and local ales in comfortable and relaxed surroundings. We are just a short commute from Sellafield and minutes away from the main route into the Lake District National Park, local towns and villages. Your well behaved canine friends are very welcome too.
After being told by a local that The food was excellent. I booked a table for Sunday Lunch for my wife and mother in law. I can only say both the food quality and the friendly service was outstanding. Having read a previous terrible review I can only suggest they had some hidden agenda. Congratulations to all concerned in making this village pub a must visit venue.
