A popular destination for golfers looking for better rates and more accessible courses, Bintan is also a nice way to escape the bustle of Singapore. A ferry ride takes between one and two hours, depending on where you’re headed. From there you can relax on one of the beaches or head inland for hiking and ATV rides or take a ride at the elephant park. There are a couple of towns on Bintan, but the island’s natural beauty is what draws visitors.

Aroma River Spa, a world-class spa with local prices, is located at Mutiara Beach Resort, on Bintan Island's east coast. The spa can be visited either as a day trip out of Singapore, as a half-day excursion from any of the Bintan hotels, or by just walking-in. The spa's natural setting is rather unique, built on stilts in a lush mangrove river, with direct access to its own private white sandy beach. After the treatment, spa guests have the possibility of enjoying a tasty local meal at the open air restaurant and some souvenirs shopping at the spa boutique. Aroma River Spa prefers the Taman Sari natural indonesian products. Two-way land transfers can be arranged upon request. Open every day, 10am till 6pm, advance reservation is recommended.
A tranquil and peaceful spot to unwind form the craziness of urban life. To hear the waves and the crickets outside while lying on a massage table, reminded me of a Singapore of yesteryear. I went there in early February, during the Corvid19 kerfuffle. It felt safe and it completely relaxed my body and spirit. I took the maximum massage of 75 minutes, everyday over the three days I was there. And it was, in a word, wonderful. Competent hands with good quality oils. The treatment room was on stils over a river that slowly flowed into the sea. Simple yet it had everything you need to be comfortable. The only downside is the humidity. But then, where in the tropics isn't it humid? At least at the river spa, you are stripped down to the minimum. After the massage starts, even the humidity won't be a bother. The treatments was decently priced, a great deal less than what you find in Bintan Resorts. What a hidden gem. All in all, more than good value for money. I will be back.

I found this piece of paradise by chance whilst looking for a beach break after a stay in Singapore. Everywhere involved a flight until I came across Bintan Island. It is reached by ferry, pre booked & takes an hour. A private car from the hotel will pick you up from the ferry terminal. We chose a rainforest villa with a sea view. We were not disappointed. It had charm, style and amazing views across the sea. It was very tranquil from the moment we arrived till we left 5 days later. Staff are extremely friendly and chilled. I would like to mention Sandro, front Office Manager. Also Sofyan, Kasir & Transkeik who couldn’t do enough o help us. They would pick us up in our buggy, it’s very hilly, and take us to the beach etc. Always friendly with ideas about what to do during our stay. A big thank you to all the staff , you made our stay very special, thank you

Situated on the water’s edge of the sapphire-blue South China Sea and set against a breathtaking canvas of azure skies, the Asmara Bintan is a truly unforgettable spa experience. Submit to the lullaby of gently lapping waters and be immersed in Asmara’s luxuriant spa indulgences inspired by the age-old Indonesian 'mandi lulur’ treatment.
I so highly recommend the spa, took up one if the daily offers of buy 1 ninety min massage get one free and it was just sublime. The entire experience is so polished - from booking through to welcome drink to choosing oils and the actual massage. Super clean premises, aesthetically beautiful and my masseuse was superb. The sound of the sea enhances the entire experience. Having my 2nd one tomorrow and really looking forward to it. Many of the Club Med guests used the spa and every single one I spoke to raves about it. Highly recommended.

Beautiful and nice-smelling spa. Very clean as well. I love the lemongrass jelly they served when I entered. I did the traditional Javanese aromatherapy massage and it was extremely relaxing. I could choose from a tray of aroma essence and the masseuse would use it for my massage. She gave me very clear directions on what she was going to do next and made sure to ask me whether I was comfortable. There are even bathrooms for you to wash up if you don't want to feel oily afterwards. Plus point: The spa is located near the beach front and it was perfect for an evening stroll right after the session.
