1 lift! Huge coverage area. Easy runs for the kids, and challenging stuff for more advanced riders. There is even a cornice with a 15 ft drop. Best value resort we've been to. Nice motel and restaurant a few minutes away: Hideout Motel and Gold Buckle Grill. Will come again soon!

The Beartooth Basin Summer Ski Area is located along the Beartooth Scenic Highway and is typically open late June-August. It's a fun, small outfit for experts/good intermediate skiers and you must bring your own gear. This is not for beginners. There are two surface lifts and no groomed runs, or trees, just a beautiful, wide-open basin. These lifts used to be used as summer training for the US ski team and some pros. The current area is featured in the 2019 Warren Miller ski film "Timeless". There's an Airstream trailer to sell tickets, snacks, swag and essentials. When we skied in 2019 you could get a pass by the hour but stopping by in 2020 we found it was day/half-day during the pandemic to keep down the number of skiers. Besides bringing your own gear and being prepared to pay in cash (can't take cards, there's no cell service or wifi up there) it would be best to take a small car with good clearance. However, I did manage to park an Expedition on the downhill side of the road which was a double black diamond level of difficulty, for sure. Although the resort's office address is in Cody, Red Lodge MT is much closer in driving distance.

Escape the crowds and get back to the way skiing and snowboarding were meant to be experienced at Grand Targhee. You'll enjoy wide open, uncrowded runs, with 2,602 acres of diverse terrain, 500+ inches of annual snowfall, a Kids Adventure Zone, and Wyoming's only cat skiing operation. The big mountain setting, slopeside accommodations, Western charm, and relaxed atmosphere make Grand Targhee a must-visit destination. Throughout the summer, you'll find over 70 miles of trails for hiking and biking. An award-winning bike park with 15 miles of lift-served downhill bike trails, makes for a perfect summer adventure. You'll also find two world-class music festivals featuring some incredible talent.
Great overall experience and Jordan the kids' ski school instructor who tought our almost 3 1/2 y.o. how to ski is a fabulous teacher and overall exceptional person. The staff are personable and make Targhee an outstanding resort. The Branding Iron has some of the most amazing food and Lindsey, Bobby, Ken and Mason are the greatest. Javier gave our son some special attention and he's still talking about him and his brother days after we've left. He continues to ask when we can go back to Grand Targhee!

Great family ski resort. The lessons our kids got were fantastic. They learned way more here than at a large CO place. They both can ski now! Yes smaller but that was an advantage for us. Easy to get in and get going on a run. Short lines and rentals right there.

Jackon Hole ski area's main attraction ranks as the most challenging mountain to ski in the country.
Took the tram up. It is absolutely breathtaking from up here Would definitely recommend the trip, and consider getting the waffles while you are up there.
