Sunday early morning, grey and chilly air... "Daytime sleep is like the sin of the flesh" The mountain was hided by a low cloud but when we went up, here we are, the abbeys appear on top of the rock, strong and proud, majestic even and so humble at the same time. We made the tour on our own and we enjoyed a lot, following our instinct and timing. We just had to be out of the church by midday because of the Sunday mass - obvious. It is a touristic place but used by living monks! Don't forget, it is a beautiful location but most of all a religious mecca, a strong spiritual location on the Saint Michaels's line. I'll go back on Spring for sure. “Love is wiser than wisdom.” Umberto Eco

The place is huge and very interesting. I wish I could have read all the explanations on all the items, but I would still be there today. If you like science it is a very interesting place to go and you can stay there for hours and hours to try and see everything. It ends up being a little tiring, especially if you have to walk to go to other places. We were unable to see everything because the place closed at 12 or 13 (we thought it would close later) and we were leaving the city after this attraction.

The Museo delle Antichità Egizie in Turin is the only museum other than the Cairo Museum that is dedicated solely to Egyptian art and culture. It houses one of the largest collections of Egyptian antiquities with more than 30,000 artefacts. The first object having an association with Egypt to arrive in Turin was the Mensa Isiaca in 1630, an altar table in imitation of Egyptian style. The collections that make up today’s Museum were enlarged by the excavations conducted in Egypt by the Museum’s archaeological mission between 1900 and 1935 (a period when finds were divided between the excavators and Egypt). But we don't want to spoil your visit too much... There's so much to discover inside this incredible museum! Follow your expert guide around the different areas of the museum and listen to the explanations of the history and legends that hide behind the fascinating artefacts you can see all around you.

Inclusions: Tour of the museum led by an expert guide

Exclusions: Food and drinks
